So, first things first, I think Michigan is the better team here. So +4 seems like a good number to grab. I think the number is a little inflated due to the fact many bettors believe Purdue “can't” lose two straight home games. (They just lost Tuesday to Ohio State, allowing 53.3% shooting overall including 47.8% from three).
Defensively, the Boilermakers haven't been great at home this season (165th in PPP allowed) and they have trouble rebounding as well. Michigan does a great job at rebounding the ball and is the better defensive team here as well.
The last point I'd like to make is that the Wolverines have not lost a game by more than three points all season. Their three regulation losses, one of which was a result of a four-point play, have come by a TOTAL of just five points.

This is likely going to be a very entertaining game on Friday's slate, but 169 is a lot of points. The over has cashed in each of the last four meetings between the Hawkeyes and Nittany Lions, but none of those four totals were anywhere near the 169 that we're seeing on Friday. This will be the highest total that Penn State has seen this season. The Nittany Lions have only been involved in three games with a total north of 160, so this is uncharted waters for the visiting squad even though they play at one of the fastest tempos in the country. In Big Ten play, Iowa's offense leads the conference in turnover rate, so Penn State's pressure defense is going to struggle to produce turnovers. The Hawkeyes have had issues with defending the three-point line, as conference opponents are shooting 41-percent from beyond the arc against Iowa. Penn State is unlikely to take advantage of that weakness. Only 26.1-percent of Penn State's points come from the three-point line, which is No. 314 in the country. These teams have produced some very entertaining games in recent seasons, and Friday's contest is likely to join that group. But a lot of things have to go right for a game to eclipse 169 points, and there's simply no wiggle room for a slow start or a two-minute stretch with some missed shots.
