The Industry Standard
Founded in 1957, GoldSheet is the country's longest-running sports betting newsletter. In May 2019, WagerTalk Media announced its intent to acquire GoldSheet in a deal to bring the iconic publication into the digital age.
Bettors and oddsmakers have used GoldSheet’s betting analysis for nearly seven decades. In 2022, the Chicago Sun Times did a piece on our history in the sports betting industry, and we were featured in Billy Walters’ critically-acclaimed book, Gambler: Secrets from a Life at Risk: “Mike was not a big sports gambler himself, but he knew a ripe market when he saw one. He dug for information at his local library and bookstores. He searched NCAA football guides, which listed scores and statistics, as well as local and national newspapers and handicapping resources like the GoldSheet.”
Newsletter vs Picks
What's the difference between the GoldSheet newsletter and LTS Picks? The Football GoldSheet newsletter gets published every Tuesday during football season and The Basketball GoldSheet newsletter gets published daily by 12pm ET / 9am PT. We pride ourselves on being one of the first publications to market every week, giving you information as early as possible to assist in your handicapping process.
The biggest challenge with publishing a newsletter that early is that we don't always have important injury and weather reports at that time. Our LTS pick selections are made using a collaborative approach later in the week when some of those intangibles are a little more settled.
The GoldSheet team currently consists of seven handicappers with each one focusing on a specific area in specific sports. The team collaborates each day to share thoughts on their favorite wagers, betting notes and injury news. Using that collaboration, the team determines their top selections and those consensus picks are what gets released to clients.
The Football GoldSheet
- We offer write-ups, stat comparisons and GoldSheet’s power rating point spreads for every NFL and FBS-level college football matchup on the board.
- Formerly known as GoldSheet Extra, our new Tech Angle section explores some historical trends related to each game.

The Basketball GoldSheet
- The Basketball GoldSheet newsletter will feature daily NBA and NCAAB game previews released by 12pm ET / 9am PT during the week and 10am ET / 7am PT on the weekends to accommodate for the earlier start times.
- The Basketball Record provides a game log for every team with scores and point spread results.
- The Basketball Spreadsheet provides situational records for each team based on their home/road splits and how they are performing as a favorite or as an underdog in certain situations.
- Each daily issue features roughly six Key Releases across the NBA and college basketball, depending on the size of the slate for that day.
