Udoka has been suspended for the entire season for violating team policies stemming from a relationship with a team employee, but bettors and oddsmakers are unsure of what kind of impact that will have. The Celtics sit with the highest projected win total in the league at DraftKings, despite losing the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors in six games.
Boston made an impressive playoff run to last year’s NBA Finals with series wins over the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat. Even without Udoka, the Celtics are still in the conversion for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Robert Williams III will miss the first 2-3 months of the season after undergoing knee surgery for the second time since March.
Boston Celtics Prediction
The Boston Celtics will host the Philadelphia 76ers for their season opener on October 18th as a 3.5-point home favorite in the contest. Despite their loss in the Finals, this is still one of the youngest and most talented rosters out there. The Celtics’ core remains intact with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Al Horford and Robert Williams III.
The addition of Malcolm Brogdon wBoston Celticsill give Boston a true point guard presence they have lacked for some time. Interim head coach Joe Mazzulla has been with the team since 2019 and should be able to keep the continuity that Udoka & Co. have instilled.
The Celtics won 51 games during the regular season last year, despite a very slow start in the first half. Based on their late-season and playoff run, this talented squad could flirt with 60 wins if they stay healthy. Over 53.5 wins is the only way to look, even with it being the highest regular season win total in the league.
