Dallas Mavericks vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction: The Analysis
The Brooklyn Nets wrap up their three game road trip against the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center. The Mavericks edged out the Toronto Raptors 111-110 at home Friday night.
The Nets won their second straight game 98-94 in Charlotte against the Hornets. This will be the second and last meeting between these teams with Dallas prevailing in a 129-125 overtime thriller on October 27th. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:45 PM EST/6:45 PST.
The Luka Show
The Dallas Mavericks won their third straight home game 111-110 against the Toronto Raptors and will be looking to finish their current home stand 4-1.
Luka Doncic paced his team in scoring with 35 points as he has in every game this season. Doncic also led the team in rebounds with 8 while Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 21 points.
Doncic has been on an insane run as he leads the league with with a staggering 36 points a game while ranking 6th in assists with an average of 8.6 per game. The Mavs rank 10th in scoring with 115 points a game while shooting an accurate 48.3% from the field.
However defense will be the key for Dallas with that being their calling card. They only allow 109 points per game which ranks 6th in the NBA. They have smothered the opposition on the perimeter, holding them to 33.2% from beyond the arc.
Nets Flourish In Turmoil
The Brooklyn Nets have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately between the firing of head coach Steve Nash and the 5 game suspension of point guard Kyrie Irving. Since those two events, this team is 2-0 with wins on the road against the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets.
It’s Kevin Durants team as of now and he led the team in scoring against Charlotte with 27 points on 10 of 20 from the field. Cam Thomas chipped in with 21 points off the bench. The Nets sport what amounts to a clean injury report outside of the Irving suspension.
Reports today stated that Irving told the Nets brass he plans on retiring instead of returning to the team. The Nets are middle of the pack in scoring as they rank 15th with 113.8 points allowed per game on 48.9% from the field. Defensively they are well below average with 115 points allowed on 45.9% shooting and ranking 19th.
Dallas Mavericks vs Brooklyn Nets Prop – The Ultimate Betting Pick
The Dallas Mavericks are favored by 6 points over the Brooklyn Nets with a total of 216.5. With Luka Doncic and Kevin Durant both on the court we should see plenty of fireworks as both these guys have been lightning up the scoreboard.
It was in overtime but last time these teams met in October they combined for 254 points. Doncic posted a 41 point, 14 assist, 11 rebound triple double. Again, overtime was in play but the Nets don’t look like they are going out without a fight.
The Brooklyn Nets allow the 2nd most rebounds and 10th most assists to opposing point guards. We know Luka is scoring 10 points so the double-double prop is very enticing, unfortunately its also priced at -160.
This is about 20 cents past my normal limit, especially on player props but this spot might be too good to pass up. Let’s make a small play on the Luka double-double and build our bankrolls.
