Orlando Magic vs Phoenix Suns Prediction : The Game Analysis

The Phoenix Suns continue their road trip at the Amway Center against the Orlando Magic on Friday night. The Magic picked up an upset victory 94-87 against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.

The Suns were also in action on Wednesday night as they prevailed in a road shootout 129-117 over the Minnesota Timberwolves. This is the first of two meetings in a regular season series Phoenix swept 2-0 in the 2021-22 campaign. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM EST/4:00 PST.

Magic Hope To Repeat Tricks On Defense

The Orlando Magic will be playing the fifth game of a seven game home stand after beating the Dallas Mavericks and improving to 3-9 on the season. Franz Wagner led his team in scoring and assists with 22 and 6 respectively.

Wendell Carter Jr led Orlando on the boards with a 13 point 12 rebound double-double. The Magic held Dallas to an impressive 37.6% from the field and 26.2% from beyond the arc.

Orlando has struggled defensively prior to the Mavs game as they allowed 125 points or more in three straight games. They rank 17th in the league in defensive scoring with 113.7 points allowed per game.

Offensively they rank 21st with 110.1 points a game. Rookie standout Paola Banchero leads the Magic in points with 23.5 a game and rebounds with 8.3 a game. However Banchero missed the last game and is questionable for tonight’s contest with an ankle injury.

Orlando Magic vs Phoenix Suns Prediction : No Paul No Problem

The Phoenix Suns avoided their first losing streak of the season with a 129-117 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Suns played without both Chris Paul (heel) and Cam Johnson (meniscus surgery) in the win.

Devin Booker led the team in points and assists with a 32 point 10 assist double-double. Mikal Bridges was right behind him with 31 points while Cameron Payne added 23.

The Suns rank 4th in offensive efficiency and 12th in points scored with 113.9 a game. Devin Booker paces the team with 27.5 points per contest. Phoenix is 2nd best in defensive efficiency and 1st in points allowed with only 104.7 a game.

Orlando Magic vs Phoenix Suns – The Ultimate Betting Pick

The Phoenix Suns enter this contest as 7.5 point road favorites with a total of 218. The Phoenix Suns run a much faster paced offense with Cameron Payne at the point as Chris Paul tends to prefer a slow methodical pace.

The Orlando Magic defense hasn’t been able to stop anyone outside of the Dallas Mavericks. They gave up 125+ points in three of their last four games against teams like the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings.

Payne isn’t quite the defender that Paul is and the Magic prefer a quicker pace. DeAndre Ayton should have sucess in the paint with a significant size advantage. The Suns are obviously the better team but laying 7.5 on the road isn’t a recipe for success. Let’s play the over on the Suns team total of 112.5.
