Los Angeles Lakers vs Boston Celtics Betting Analysis
The Boston Celtics travel to Los Angeles to renew the greatest rivalry in the history of the NBA with the Lakers on Tuesday evening. The Lakers record improved to 11-15 on the season with a 124-117 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.
The Celtics record dipped to 21-6 after being dominated 123-107 against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
This will be the first of two meetings in the 2022-23 campaign as they meet again on January 28th in Boston. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST as the nightcap of a TNT doubleheader.
Celts Wrap-up Six Game Road Trip
The Boston Celtics record dipped to 21-7 on the season after losing 113-93 against Los Angeles’ other team, the Clippers. They were out-rebounded 46-36 and shot only 23.1% from long distance.
Jaylen Brown led the team with 21 points but shot only 1-6 from three-point land. Jayson Tatum added a 20 point 11 rebound double-double. The Celtics have relied on offense this season as they lead the league in scoring with 120.3 points a game, more than two points better than any other team.
The greens defense has been a let down compared to last season as they rank 13th with 112.4 points allowed per game. However, their defensive anchor Robert Williams III has yet to join the team as he recovers from knee surgery. Al Horford had also already been ruled out for this contest with a back injury.
Lakers Come Home
The Los Angeles Lakers finished a six game road trip with a 3-3 split after beating the Detroit Pistons 124-117. Lebron James led the way with 35 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Anthony Davis was right behind him with a 34 point 15 rebound double-double.
Lebron James averaged nearly 28 points per game on the trip. Los Angeles has been average offensively as they rank 12th with 114.8 points a game. They shoot 47.3% from the floor and 32.2% from beyond the arc.
They have really struggled defensively as they rank 26th with 116.3 points allowed per game on 45.5% from the floor. Wenyen Gabriel (shoulder) and Juan Toscano-Anderson (ankle) have both already been ruled out for this contest.

The Boston Celtics are 3.5 point road favorites with a total of 236. This is a classic NBA rivalry game loaded with superstars like Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Anthony Davis and Lebron James.
Lebron James has been on an amazing scoring steak with almost 28 points per game on the road trip. His point total is set at 26.5, a total he has cleared in 5 of his last 8 games. He gets up to play Boston, scoring 30 & 23 points last season with the 30 spot coming in Los Angeles.
We already mentioned the Celtics playing lackluster defense without their rim protectors, opening the door even further for James to score. Let’s back Lebron against the Celtics tonight in what should be a high scoring game with a total of 236.
