Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns Betting Analysis
The Phoenix Suns wrap-up a four game road trip in Los Angeles against the Clippers on Thursday night. The Clippers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 99-88 at home on Wednesday night. The Suns struggles continued as they lost 111-97 on the road against the Houston Rockets.
The is the second of four regular season meetings between these teams, Phoenix prevailed 112-95 on October 23rd in Los Angeles. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 PM EST/7:30 PST from crypto.com Arena.
Suns Sinking
The Phoenix Suns hope to salvage the final game of their road trip after losing their fifth straight game to the Houston Rockets. Devin Booker sat out for the second straight game and the Suns trailed wire-to-wire while shooting a putrid 32% from the field.
Both De’Andre Ayton and Cameron Payne excited the game due to injuries. Mikal Bridges led the team in scoring with 18 points but shot a horrendous 4-24 from the floor and 2-10 from long distance.
Phoenix sits 9th in scoring with 115.4 points per game on 47% from the field. They now rank 10th in defensive scoring with 111.3 points allowed per game after allowing four of their past five opponents to score 125+ points.
Devin Booker (hamstring) and De’Andre Ayton (ankle) are both listed as questionable for this contest while Cameron Payne (foot) and Duane Washington Jr (hip) have both already been ruled out.
Clippers Look For Fourth Straight Victory
The Los Angeles Clippers improved to 17-13 on the season after winning their third straight game 99-88 at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Kawhi Leonard led the Clips in scoring with 19 points to go along with 8 rebounds.
Paul George shined with a 17 point, 11 rebound, 11 assist triple-double. Los Angeles dominated the glass with a 52-43 rebounding edge. The Clippers offense ranks dead last in scoring with only 107.6 points a game. George leads the way with 23.8 points, 6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game while Leonard has appeared in only ten games thus far.
Defense is where the Clippers hang their hat at 3rd with 108 points allowed per game. Leonard, Paul and Ivica Zubac are all questionable for this contest while Norman Powell remains out with a groin injury.
Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns Prop Prediction
The Los Angeles Clippers are 1.5 point home favorites with a total of 217.5. This game features two teams heading in opposite directions as the Clippers have won three straight games while Phoenix has lost five straight. There are also plenty of question marks surrounding key players on both sides.
The Suns defense has been dreadful now for a few weeks and missing personnel isn’t going to help. The Clippers team total is set at 108.5 and Phoenix has allowed 9 of their last 10 opponents to eclipse that total.
The Clippers have scored 109 or more in 5 of their last 6 games. I’m also expecting a defensive let down from Los Angeles on a back-to-back. Let’s ride the trend of fading this Suns defense and go over on the Clippers team total.
