Real Madrid vs Valencia Betting Analysis

Just one win over their last three league games in all has seen Real Madrid fall off the pace at the top of the table against league leaders Barcelona, and they’ll look to rectify that recent run here on Thursday with a win at home against Valencia.

Valencia for their part have really struggled this season, eventually leading to the club’s dismissal of Gennaro Gattuso on Monday, with assistant manager Voro Gonzalez set to take over duties ahead of Thursday’s game.

Real Madrid have won six of their last seven LaLiga meetings against Valencia at the Bernabau, shutting out Valencia in three of those last four wins as well.

Valencia Need Work On All Fronts

The task for Voro Gonzalez over the next few weeks is sizeable, at least until a new permanent manager is named for ‘Los Che’, as the southeastern side sit just one point above the relegation zone heading into Thursday’s clash.

It’s a project that requires work on all fronts as well as Valencia have registered just one road win since early October and have relied far too heavily on set-piece goals this season also, with no team scoring more set-piece goals on the road this season than Valencia have.

Madrid Looking Ahead To A Big Second Half Of The Season

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti seemed unconcerned by ‘Los Blancos’ 0-0 draw against Real Sociedad on Sunday, hinting at another major onslaught toward the back end of the season.

Real Madrid dominated the stats over the latter portion of last year, ranking #1 in both offensive xG and xPTS, and eventually going on to win the Champions League also, so Barcelona will likely continue to look nervously behind them even with a current 5 point cushion at the top of the table.

Real Madrid vs Valencia Prediction

While Real Madrid should get over the line in this one, we’re not inclined to step in front of that new manager bounce Valencia will likely go through here, even with an interim coach in charge.

Despite that, there’s simply no getting away from Valencia’s propensity for shipping late goals away from home this season, with Valencia conceding after the 85th minute in three of their last four LaLiga road trips in all.

On the flip side, Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has been a dangerman late in games, scoring four of his last five goals for Madrid after the 65th minute, so we’ll take a flyer on Rodrygo to be the last goalscorer in this game at +500.
