Dallas Stars vs Boston Bruins Betting Analysis
The Stanley Cup favorites, the Boston Bruins, have endured their worst stretch run of the season so far over the last couple of weeks, losing four of their last five games overall, but will look to turn things around on the road against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.
Dallas for their part have been just as inconsistent of late, losing four of their last six overall and came off another loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
This will be the second and final meeting between the two sides this year after the Bruins won 3-1 earlier in the season over in Boston.
Bruins Coach Looks For More Urgency From His Players
With players such as David Pastrnak, Hampus Lindholm, and Linus Ullmark in their ranks, the Boston Bruins have won the vast majority of their games this season by simply being better than their opponents, but that may not be enough as we approach the business end of the season.
Bruins coach Jim Montgomery was quick to point out opposing teams’ desperation in games when facing his team after the Washington Capitals loss on Saturday and said his team must be able to match that same energy if they’re going to continue to be the #1 team in the league this season.
Stars Focused On Strong Home Form
While it’s no doubt been a disappointing last few weeks for the Dallas Stars overall, especially at home where they’ve won just two of their last six games, that hasn’t been the case on the season as a whole as the Dallas Stars have been strong in the American Airlines Center this season.
The Stars own a 15-6-6 record on their home ice this year and with the home team winning all of the previous four meetings between these two teams, they’ll be looking to extend that run into this one.
Dallas Stars vs Boston Bruins Expert Prediction
While both teams have definitely had their issues of late, there’s no question they’ve also been phenomenal defensively this year as well and it’s difficult not to see another under cashing here on Tuesday.
Both Boston and Dallas rank #1 and #2 in defensive scoring this year, giving up 2.12 and 2.54 GAPG respectively this season.
On top of that, Boston and Dallas rank #1 and #3 in opponent high-danger conversion percentage this season also, and with Linus Ullmark and Jake Oettinger slated to get the start in nets in this one at time of writing, we’re siding with the under in this one on Tuesday to get to the window.
Take the Under 5.5 goals on Tuesday between the Bruins and Stars over in Dallas.
