Cleveland Cavaliers vs New York Knicks Betting Analysis
It looks like another exciting day of Game 5’s as the New York Knicks travel to Cleveland to face the Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
The Knicks will be looking to close out the series as they hold a 3-1 series advantage after winning 102-93 on Sunday night.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM EST/4:00 PST on Wednesday night from Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
Knicks Ready For Round Two
The New York Knicks hope to become the first lower seeded team in the league to advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs with a victory in Cleveland on Wednesday night.
They took care of business at Madison Square Garden, winning 102-93 on Sunday and 99-79 Friday night. Jalen Brunson led all scorers on Sunday with 29 points on 11-22 from the field.
RJ Barrett added a career playoff high 26 points while Mitchell Robinson recorded a 12 point, 11 rebound double-double. Brunson also stuffed the stat sheet with 6 rebounds and 6 while shooting 5-9 from beyond the arc.
The Knicks defense has held strong, allowing an average of only 94 points per game compared to 113 points per game during the regular. Josh Hart was shifted into the starting lineup prior to Game 4 and he thrived witn 19 points and 7 rebounds.
Cavaliers Cling To Life
The Cleveland Cavaliers will need to reel off three straight victories to dig out of a 3-1 hole after losing to the Knicks on Sunday night. The Cavaliers stuck with Caris LeVert over Isaac Okoro in the starting lineup after making that change in Game 3.
However it will be interesting to see if they make another change after the loss in Game 4. Darius Garland led his team in points and assists with 23 points and 10 dimes after struggling in the first three games of the series.
Donovan Mitchell had been playing well but posted a horrendous 5-18 shooting performance, resulting in only 11 points.
Cleveland allowed the least points in the league during the regular season, allowing only 106.9 per game. That has continued during the post-season as they have held the Knicks to only 98 points per game.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs New York Knicks Prediction
The Cleveland Cavaliers enter this contest favored by 5.5 points with a total of only 202.5. The Knicks have looked like the better team throughout the series and they have already proven the ability to win a playoff game in Cleveland.
New York had one of the best road records in the NBA this season at 24-17. Jalen Brunson just found his shooting touch and Josh Hart stepped up in the starting lineup.
I do think the Cavaliers win this game and force a Game 6, but 5.5 points is too much and I will gladly take those points.
