Bournemouth vs Manchester United | Saturday, May 20 | 10:00am ET

Bournemouth +495 | Manchester United -200 | Draw +375

Bournemouth vs Manchester United betting data

Manchester United secured a much-needed 2-0 win over Wolves last weekend at Old Trafford, but they will need to do more here as they look to stave off the challenge of a hard-charging Liverpool side who sit immediately behind them for one of the remaining Champions League spots.

After starting the year off slow, Liverpool have gone almost supernova since March, generating not only the most expected points out of any team in the league, but also scoring the most goals at a massive 32 across just 13 games as well.

That puts Manchester United in a difficult position here as while they still hold a one-game cushion over Liverpool in the league table, any additional slip-ups could be punished here, so a positive result against Bournemouth will be imperative for the Reds on Saturday.

That said, for all the ‘must win’ implications of this game for United, their road form just hasn’t been very good across 2023 so far, owning a poor W2, D2, L5 record across their last nine league road games in all, as well as sitting 5th from bottom in scoring offense over the calendar year as well.

Bournemouth have little to play for ahead of this one, effectively safe on 39 points, but they should nonetheless be energized by the arrival of a team like Manchester United to the Vitality Stadium this weekend, and we expect them to cover the big handicap line on Saturday against an under-performing Manchester United team at home.

Prediction: Bournemouth +1.25 (-140)

Liverpool vs Aston Villa | Saturday, May 20 | 10:00am ET

Liverpool -210 | Aston Villa +500 | Draw +390

Liverpool vs Aston Villa prediction data

As previously stated, Liverpool have been in some absolutely ruthless form over the last couple of months in pursuit of a Champions League spot for next season, ranking as one of the hottest teams in all of Europe right now, but they face a tricky test in maintaining that against a solid Aston Villa side on Saturday.

Liverpool have won seven straight games in the league heading into this one and will hope for a misstep from either Newcastle or Manchester United over the final couple of weeks of the season in order to secure themselves Champions League football for next season.

They face an Aston Villa side in this one that looked almost destined for Europe themselves just a couple of weeks ago, putting together a phenomenal ten-game unbeaten run in the league under manager Unai Emery.

They have since come off the boil a little over recent games, losing two of their last three overall and face an enormous task this weekend in trying to unseat a red-hot Liverpool side in their home fortress of Anfield.

Liverpool have won four straight games at home against Aston Villa heading into this one and in the form they’re currently in, it’s hard not to envision yet another victory for the home side this weekend also.

Take Liverpool on the -1 handicap line on Saturday to cover against Aston Villa at Anfield.

Prediction: Liverpool -1 (-130)

Manchester City vs Chelsea | Sunday, May 21 | 11:00am ET

Manchester City -400 | Chelsea +1015 | Draw +535

Manchester City vs Chelsea prediction data

Fresh off their 4-0 demolition of European champions Real Madrid in midweek, Manchester City are on course for a historic treble this season as they set their sights on their first-ever Champions League title, a fifth Premier League title in six years, and potentially their seventh FA Cup victory as well.

This would mark a historic achievement for the club, becoming only the second English club ever to accomplish that feat behind Manchester United back in the 1998-99 season.

With a current four-point gap at the top of the table plus a game in hand over nearest rivals Arsenal as well, at least one of those achievements looks well in hand here and it’s no surprise to see Manchester City installed as huge -400 favorites for Sunday’s clash against Chelsea, a line absolutely unthinkable even last year as City went off as -167 favorites in this very same game.

That’s a testament to how far Chelsea have fallen off the pace this season and after a brief respite securing a 3-1 win against Bournemouth two weeks ago, it was straight back to business for Frank Lampard and company as they failed to beat relegation battling Nottingham Forest in West London last Saturday.

However, despite the gulf in performances this season, this line is still set a shade too high in our opinion and we definitely lean toward Chelsea at the current line of +1.75.

Only one goal has separated these two sides in all of their four previous meetings in the league, and with City coming in off a monster midweek and finally having a bit of breathing room against Arsenal in the table.

They also got the Cityzens to cover this mammoth line on Sunday, a game that City would have to win by at least three clear goals to get paid out fully on, that’s just a little bit over-ambitious in our eyes and we’re happy to side with the Blues in this one getting the huge head-start this weekend in Manchester.

Prediction: Chelsea +1.75 (-110)
