Hitter Prop Prediction 1: Tim Anderson Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+100)
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson is locked in a brutal 2023 campaign where he is batting .234 with a .547 OPS, no home runs and only 15 RBI across 304 plate appearances. Anderson has fallen short of 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in 41 of 70 games (58%) on the season.
Admittedly he has heated up a bit recently, recording over 1.5 HRR in three of his last four games after a three-hit performance yesterday.
However, he is running into a brick wall as Justin Verlander has held Anderson to 2-21 in his career with 7 strikeouts and no extra base hits. Verlander has taken care of business in July with a 1-1 record, 2.50 ERA, .188 OBA and 14 strikeouts across 18 innings of work.
He has enjoyed the home cooking at Citi Field with 2.57 ERA & .203 OBA compared to a 5.18 ERA and .275 OBA on the road. Set Anderson’s recent hot streak aside, this is matchup that Verlander has dominated, and we get even money on the play.
Hitter Prop Prediction 2: George Springer Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-165)
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer is having an amazing July at the dish, going 15-47 (.333 BA) with two home runs and seven RBI.
He has cleared 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI in his last three and 8 of his last 10 games. Springer has also feasted on San Diego Padres starter Yu Darvish, who he is 9-22 (.409 BA) against with three home runs and two doubles.
Darvish is in the midst of a mediocre campaign at best with a 6-6 record, 4.65 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 98 strikeouts across 91 innings of work. However, Darvish has struggled on the road with a 5.52 ERA and .253 OBA.
Springer bats in an enviable position in the Blue Jays lineup as he leads off in front of sluggers like Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. This play checks all of the boxes, making it worthy of a play despite the hefty juice attached to it.
