Steelers vs Texans Prop Pick 1: Jaylen Warren OVER 2.5 Receptions (projected line)

The Pittsburgh Steelers have opted to go with running back by committee, and while Najee Harris has gotten the lion’s share of the ground game it’s been Jaylen Warren’s number being called in passing situations.

Warren has recorded a total of 12 receptions on 16 targets for 101 yards while clearing this projected total in all three games with 5, 4 and 3 receptions.

While Harris has dominated the ground game, running the ball 35 times to Warrens 17 carries, he has only caught three of six targets for a measly two yards.

The Houston Texans have allowed a running back to record 3+ receptions in two of three weeks as Zach Moss and Travis Etienne each caught four passes in Weeks 2 and 3 respectively.

Baltimore Ravens JK Dobbins fell short with two receptions in Week 1 due to exiting the game early with a season ending injury.

Many were impressed by Warrens pass blocking on Sunday Night Football while Harris was pulled off the field in passing situations.

This prop has been on our radar for a few weeks and while the odds went from +150 to +105 last week, we still cashed our 3rd straight 5% play on Warrens over in receptions. We have to assume that the odds will drop again but this is playable at 2.5 up to -150.

Steelers vs Texans Prop Pick 2: Houston Texans Team Total OVER 19.5 (-120)

The Houston Texans have cleared this total in two of their first three games with 20 points against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 and 37 points in CJ Strouds first career victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.

The Texans did fall sort with only 9 points in Week 1 but that was understandable being Strouds first career NFL game.

Meanwhile the Pittsburgh Steelers defense has also allowed 20+ points in two of three weeks with the San Francisco 49ers scored 30 points in Week 1 and the Cleveland Browns scoring 22 points in Week 2.

The Vegas Raiders did fall just short with 18 points last week as they failed to take advantage of gaining 362 total yards. Davante Adams did abuse the Steelers pass defense for 13 receptions on a staggering 20 targets for 172 yards and two touchdowns.

While none are on the level of Adams, Nico Collins, Robert Woods and Tank Dell present problems for the Steelers pass defense.

Stroud is a rookie quarterback that hands down his best game of the season at home against the Colts where the crowd noise wasn’t a factor.

Now Stroud returns home with more experience under his belt. Regardless this seems like a low total based on what we have seen from both teams so far in 2023. Take the Texans team total over this Sunday!
