Anytime Touchdown Scorer Prop Prediction 1: Rico Dowdle, Cowboys Anytime TD (+275 or better projected line)

It looks like Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle had his coming out party last week as he gained 79 yards on 12 carries including a one-yard touchdown run late in the 4th quarter against the New York Giants.

Dowdle took advantage of garbage time in the 49-17 victory but also received carries early in the game including the first drive of the game.

The Cowboys have always preferred the two-headed monster at running back and Dowdle looks ready to take on the additional carries left by Ezekiel Elliot who left for New England.

Regardless, Dowdle could find multiple carries in garbage time again this week as the Cowboys find themselves favored by 10.5 on the road in Carolina this Sunday.

The Panthers allow the MOST touchdowns by opposing running backs on the ground with 13, two more than any other team in the league. They also allow the 4th most running back touchdowns via the pass with three.

The Chicago Bears D’Onta Foreman scored the game’s only non-special teams’ touchdown against them last week and Johnathan Taylor caught a touchdown pass against them the week prior.

Tony Pollard is obviously still in the picture but was saw a near 50/50 split last week and we again have the opportunity for garbage time.

His anytime TD price last week was +310 so we have to expect that to decrease, play it at +275 or better when the line is available.

Anytime TD Scorer Prediction 2: TJ Hockenson, Vikings Anytime TD (+200 or better projected line)

Minnesota Vikings tight end TJ Hockenson has caught a staggering 71 passes for 681 yards and four touchdowns through his first ten games of the 2023 NFL regular season.

One of those touchdown receptions came last week against the New Orleans Saints in a game where Hockenson set season highs in receptions (11), targets (15) and yards (134).

Hockenson has been heavily targeted since stud wide receiver Justin Jefferson went down with an injury in Week 5.

He’s developed a great rapport with newly acquired quarterback Josh Dobbs as he’s tallied 203 yards and a touchdown on 18 receptions in the last two weeks since he was acquired.

Now running back Alexander Mattison is questionable due to a concussion a week after fellow running back Cam Akers landed on the IR, leaving the Vikings with even less scoring options.

The Denver Broncos have allowed four touchdowns to opposing tight ends which is tied for the 3rd most in the NFL.

Just last week the Buffalo Bills Dalton Kincaid caught a 22-yard touchdown pass against them. We cashed on a Hockenson touchdown at +235 odds in last weeks’ article and I’m going right back to the well.

However, we have to expect a slight decrease in price after scoring last week, but its playable at anything +200 or better.
