Manchester City vs Liverpool | November 25 | 7:30am ET
Manchester City -145 | Liverpool +335 | Draw +335
One of the biggest games of the European calendar kicks off early on Saturday morning as Liverpool travels the short distance over to Manchester to take on Manchester City in a huge game between the top two teams in the Premier League this weekend.
Liverpool has just about edged City in the form department across recent weeks, accumulating 11 points over their last five games compared with City’s 10 points, but the Reds have struggled away from home this season, winning just two of their six road games so far this year, as well as going winless across all of their last three also.
Liverpool’s explosive attack has seen them rank top of the league in both total shots per game and offensive xG this year, but they’ve been vulnerable defensively despite their impressive on-the-surface goals allowed tally, with the Reds ranking all the way down in 10th position in opponent shots allowed this season.
Liverpool has been competitive on this +0.75 handicap line in this venue across recent seasons, covering this line fully in three of their seven meetings here since 2019, losing a half stake in two of those seven matchups, and only losing the full stake in the other two meetings.
So backing the Reds in this spot has generally led to a positive outcome by and large, especially considering they’ve covered three of the last five here with just one full loss.
City definitely haven’t looked like the juggernauts of old so far this season and Liverpool may well do enough to snatch at least a draw in this one on Saturday.
Prediction: Liverpool +0.75 (-105)
Tottenham vs Aston Villa | November 26 | 9:00am ET
Tottenham +130 | Aston Villa +180 | Draw +290
Back-to-back defeats have seen the former Premier League leaders Tottenham tumble down to 4th spot in the table heading into this weekend’s fixtures, with things not looking any easier for Ange Postecoglou’s men as they face a potent 5th-placed Aston Villa side this Sunday.
The Villains are on a red-hot 6-1-1 record across their last eight Premier League games and they’ll be eager to take advantage of the chance to leapfrog Tottenham in the table this weekend, especially with Tottenham’s ongoing injury crisis.
Spurs have a host of first-team players out currently, missing both of their starting center-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven last time out against Wolves, and they also lost highly influential playmaker James Maddison through an ankle injury also, a player who sits joint 3rd in the league in assists this season.
Aston Villa has won two of the last three meetings against Tottenham in the English capital, and given how vulnerable Tottenham are at the back right now, combined with Aston Villa’s potent counter-attack, ranking only behind Liverpool in terms of the number of counter-attacking goals scored in the EPL this season, getting Aston Villa plus a quarter goal in this one looks like the value play on Sunday.
Prediction: Aston Villa +0.25 (-120)
Fulham vs Wolves | November 27 | 3:00pm ET
Fulham +140 | Wolves +200 | Draw +235
Wolves have enjoyed one of their brightest spells in the last few seasons under new manager Gary O’Neil, losing just one of their last seven Premier League games overall and have moved up to a respectable mid-table position as a result as they continue to put some much-needed space between themselves and the rest of the chasing relegation pack.
Perhaps most impressive is the level of competition Wolves has faced across that stretch, beating Tottenham and Manchester City, and drawing against Aston Villa and Newcastle, as they’ve shown themselves to be a tough out for any Premier League team this season.
Facing them on Monday is a Fulham side who have won just one of their last seven league games overall, that coming against one of the relegation favorites Sheffield United, as the Cottagers’ lack of offensive firepower due to Aleksandar Mitrovic’s departure in the summer continues to cost them in games.
Only bottom-of-the-table Burnley has scored fewer goals in the league this season than Fulham has, with the Cottagers also ranking bottom three in the table in offensive xG this year as well.
Wolves have managed to grind out a positive result in seven of their last eight trips to Craven Cottage, and given the way both teams are playing currently, that has a distinct possibility of happening once again on Monday.
Prediction: Wolves +0.25 (-125)
