NBA Player Props Predictions 1: Buddy Hield UNDER 4.5 Rebounds (-135) DK

Indiana Pacers shooting guard Buddy Hield is only averaging 2.9 rebounds per game on the season while falling short of this total in a staggering 14 of 18 games for a 78% success rate to the under.

This line may be a little inflated based on Tyrese Haliburton currently being listed as a game-time decision with an illness. However, I assume Haliburton will be on the court as this is a knockout game for the In-Season Tournament.

Hield has averaged around 30 minutes in tournament games, and he’s cleared this rebounding total only once in four games. That was a game where Hield recorded 5 rebounds on 6 rebound chances which isn’t sustainable.

The Celtics rank are middle of the pack in rebounding overall and against opposing shooting guards. However, they rank #1 in adjusted offense and 9th in offensive rating, limiting rebounding opportunities for the opposition.

Hield needs five rebounds to clear this total and he’s only averaging 5.7 rebound chance per game. Let’s roll the dice and assume Haliburton plays and Hield falls short once again.

NBA Player Props Predictions 2: Jonas Valanciunas OVER 22.5 Points + Rebounds (-105) DK

New Orleans Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas has averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds per game on 56.4% shooting through the early part of the regular season.

Valanciunas has been in great recent form as he’s cleared this line in 8 of his last 10 games while averaging 16.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.

JV has also had great success against the Sacramento Kings, recording 23+ Points + Rebounds in 9 of his last 10 head-to-head games while landing on 21 in the lone game he fell short.

He’s played the Kings twice this season and recorded 10 points & 13 rebounds in only 21 minutes due to a blowout and 15 points & 11 rebounds in 28 minutes in the second game.

The Kings allow the 4th least points to opposing centers but the 10th most points in the paint where Valanciunas can score on Ingram and Williamson drives.

CJ McCollum has returned, and JV is perfect 6/6 to this number when playing 27+ minutes with CJ, Williamson and Ingram on the floor.

Valanciunas averages 26.7 minutes per games and with this being an In-Season Tournament elimination game, I see him playing the 27 minutes here. These teams rank 8th and 12th in pace of play and the total is sitting at 236.5 which sets up nicely for another Valanciunas PR over.
