Steelers Strengths and Weaknesses

Pittsburgh has a turnover ratio of +11. The OL not only got better in run blocking as the season went along, they also allowed just 26 sacks. The pass defense was top five at 60.7%.

The stat sheet is hardly perfect. The offense still can be inconsistent with a rare (for them) lack of WR production, and they were out first-downed by 24. The passing yardage differential for the entire season was solidly negative.

Bills Strengths and Weaknesses

Buffalo’s OL was not only injury-free, they played an estimated 97% of all snaps. That led to allowing just 24 sacks, #1 in the NFL.

They converted on 50% of their 3rd down opportunities, an amazing figure. RB Cook helped to diversify the offense.

Not to be outdone, Buffalo also recorded 54 defensive sacks. Josh Allen does some amazing things, but is also quite turnover-prone. Injuries contributed, but the pass D% was not up to past standards. Allen had an amazing 15 rushing TD’s (a strength), but RB Cook only had two.

Steelers vs Bills Prediction: The PICK

Mason Rudolph has had a calming effect on the offense. In his three starts the Steelers have scored 81 points and he has passed 53-71 for 716 yards, with no interceptions.

Buffalo destroyed Pittsburgh 38-3 in October, 2022. With Big Ben at the helm, the Steelers beat the Bills 23-16 in 2021.

Both games were in Buffalo and T.J. Watt may not play in this game. Pittsburgh has a dismal straight-up record in games he misses.

There are reasons to like both teams. I haven’t played it yet, but the early number on WR Pickens and his receiving yards (40.5) seems a bit low.

Lean: George Pickens Over ~40.5 Receiving Yards
