Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace Premier League prediction

Two teams almost locked in mid-table right now with not a whole lot to play for, unless we see an absolutely epic collapse from Crystal Palace over the final few weeks of the season to see them get dragged into the relegation battle below, Tuesday’s game over at the Vitality Stadium between Crystal Palace and Bournemouth should provide a shackles off, entertaining type of affair.

After taking a full ten games to register a single league win, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, one of the mid-season favorites to get the sack, has now guided his team to a current four-game unbeaten run in the league, winning three of them outright, and has almost assured safety for his team in the Premier League for next season.

New Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has also added more energy to his team in terms of attack since taking charge back in February, but hasn’t been able to stop the Eagles almost perpetual need to give up late goals in games, costing them yet again last weekend against Nottingham Forest from a winning position.

In fact, only bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United has given up more goals beyond the 75th minute this season than Crystal Palace have in what continues to be a major thorn for them in their pursuit of a top-half finish in the table.

Despite all of the last six meetings between these two teams finishing with two goals or fewer, this is a game where Bournemouth can play freely and since February pretty much have already, with the Cherries owning the league’s 3rd best offensive xG numbers behind only Liverpool and Manchester City.

Crystal Palace have the ability to counter off the break in this one as well, so it should provide an entertaining encounter on Tuesday night down on the south coast.

Premier League Prediction: Over 2.75 (-110)

Manchester City vs Aston Villa | April 3 | 3:15pm ET

Manchester City -350 | Aston Villa +815 | Draw +325

Manchester City vs Aston Villa Premier League prediction

It’s now advantage Liverpool in the race for the Premier League crown as Manchester City and Arsenal battled to a 0-0 draw on Sunday over at the Etihad, a result that, while obviously better than a loss, definitely handed the Reds the advantage in terms of lifting the title this year, and one sure to spur on City here to maximize every return from now until the end of the season.

Three points and a -5 goal difference now separate Manchester City from Liverpool at the top of the table, so winning every game by a clear margin will be essential from this point of the season on to have any hopes of reclaiming their crown this year.

Standing in their way on Wednesday night will be an Aston Villa side that rebounded well last weekend to grab the outright win against West Midlands derby rivals Wolves in a game that Moussa Diaby had an outstanding performance in.

However, with a now 90% chance of the EPL getting at least one more spot in the Champions League ahead of next season given their co-efficient rating, the battle for a top-four spot has diluted slightly, which they currently find themselves in with Tottenham, with the pressure easing off given both teams own a huge gap between themselves and Manchester United down in 6th.

Manchester City need this game like absolute blood on Wednesday night and should have enough to win by multiple goals if they can find form in this one, something they’ve managed in four of their last five games against Villa when hosting them over at the Etihad.

Premier League Prediction: Manchester City -1.75 (-105)

Liverpool vs Sheffield United | April 4 | 2:30pm ET

Liverpool -1205 | Sheffield United +2300 | Draw +1125

Liverpool vs Sheffield United Premier League prediction

Bottom versus top on Thursday evening as cellar dwellers Sheffield United find themselves quickly running out of time in order to salvage their season, sitting at least eight points adrift from safety currently with by far the worst goal differential in the league also.

Liverpool meanwhile were handed a huge boost to their domestic title hopes as rivals Manchester City and Arsenal played out a 0-0 draw over at the Etihad on Sunday. That result effectively gave Liverpool a huge advantage now to become EPL champions if they can stay consistent across the final few months of the season, and Thursday’s game against Sheffield United presents the biggest lay-up of the season yet, hosting the league’s worst team on their home patch of Fortress Anfield.

However, at the current line of -2.75 on Liverpool, needing the Reds to win by 4 clear goals to cash a full ticket on them, even though we expect Liverpool to win this one fairly comfortably on Thursday, that’s just far too high of a line to lay here given how Sheffield United have performed across recent meetings to Anfield.

Since Chris Wilder’s return to management of the Blades back in December, Sheffield United have actually allowed the joint-7th fewest goals in the league away from home alongside Wolves, showing how tight they set up defensively when traveling on the road.

While there’s obviously a massive gulf in class between these two teams right now, Wilder’s men will no doubt set up extremely defensively here and we’ll tentatively back them to stay inside the number on Thursday.

Premier League Prediction: Sheffield United +2.75 (-110)
