Everton vs Burnley | April 6 | 10:00am ET
Everton -150 | Burnley +400 | Draw +305
It was another case of so near yet so far for Burnley in midweek as they fell to another frustrating draw in league action against Wolves on Tuesday night.
The Clarets badly need to pick up maximum points in at least some of their remaining fixtures season, but three draws from their last four games overall, two of which saw Burnley throw away the lead in as well, has put pressure on the Lancashire club across the final few games of the season.
Tuesday’s matchup against Wolves was no different as Burnley took the early lead in that game once again, and owned a massive 75-27 dangerous attack advantage also, but just as before, it all came to nothing as Wolves grabbed the equalizer just before the break.
Everton meanwhile haven’t won a Premier League game this calendar year, winless in thirteen straight games now in the league as fans are starting to turn on manager Sean Dyche.
The Toffees did manage to get a draw in Tuesday night’s game against Newcastle, a solid result considering how good the Magpies have been at home this season, but they were somewhat fortunate to do so, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin converting a late penalty to grab a share of the spoils for the away side.
Everton has won four of the last five meetings at Goodison Park against Burnley, but Burnley have been in the much better form of the two sides across recent games, owning a 1.20 PPG to 0.40 PPG advantage over Everton across their last five Premier League starts.
This is arguably a must-win fixture for both teams on Saturday given their current predicament, but we’ll side with the away side in this one who are in the better form of the two right now.
Premier League Prediction: Burnley +0.75 (+100)
Brighton vs Arsenal | April 6 | 12:30pm ET
Brighton +410 | Arsenal -165 | Draw +330
Both Arsenal and Manchester City came off routine wins in midweek against Luton and Aston Villa respectively to keep pressure on Liverpool at the top of the table (Arsenal are temporarily top at the time of writing on Wednesday night).
The battle for the Premier League title continues to hinge on a knife edge, with Liverpool currently holding a two-point advantage should they do what they’re expected to on Thursday night against Sheffield United, but one slip-up over their final few games of the season and that could all fall apart, ensuring the title goes to either London or Manchester instead if both Arsenal and City can keep winning.
That’ll be the plan once again for the Gunners in this one as they travel down to the south coast on Saturday to take on a Brighton side that have registered just one win across their last five Premier League starts in all.
While the Seagulls haven’t been in the best form of late, with rumors continuing to circulate that manager Roberto De Zerbi may be headed to Liverpool in the summer, they have nevertheless beaten Arsenal outright in three of their last five head-to-heads against them.
That said, Arsenal simply must win this game if they’re going to have any shot of claiming the Premier League crown this season, their first since their ‘invincible’ season 20 years ago, and even with a huge Champions League quarter-final looming on deck against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, we’d be surprised if the Gunners slip-up in this one.
Take Arsenal to get the outright win on Saturday against Brighton.
Premier League Prediction: Arsenal Moneyline (-165)
Sheffield United vs Chelsea | April 7 | 12:30pm ET
Sheffield United +550 | Chelsea -240 | Draw +405
Despite a current five-game unbeaten run in the league, Chelsea have looked less than impressive across recent starts, laboring to a 2-2 draw against Burnley last weekend, and will face old rivals Manchester United on Thursday night in a battle of two old giants who have both looked very un-impressive so far this season.
While that game may well play out in any number of ways on Thursday evening, Sheffield United meanwhile faces a monumental task in trying to get a result from their trip to Anfield on Thursday, with Liverpool firmly in command of their Premier League destiny providing they can claim another victory as expected in that one.
Despite all of their troubles so far this season, Chelsea are going off as substantial -1.25 favorites for this game, a huge line considering Chelsea have an FA Cup semi-final on the horizon against Manchester City (a game they simply must win to have any shot of gaining silverware this season), as well as covering that high line in just one of their last eleven Premier League starts also.
With Sheffield United continuing to fight tooth-and-nail for every single point across the last few weeks of the season, we’ll tentatively back the Blades to cover at home in this one on Sunday against Chelsea.
Premier League Prediction: Sheffield United +1.25 (-105)
