Goodyear 400 Track: Darlington Raceway

NASCAR travels to arguably the most iconic track on the circuit at Darlington, and this is my favorite track to watch the boys race on.

The track is a strange oval that has wide/ flat turns at one end and higher/ banked turns at the other end. The track is a nightmare for crews to set up for, and an even bigger nightmare to make adjustments during the race.

Most drivers will bounce off the wall at least once coming out of a turn, scraping up the side of the car giving them what is affectionately called…Darlington Stripes. The key is making sure that damage is cosmetic only.

Goodyear 400 Head-to-Head Prediction

Chris Buescher (-120) over Ryan Blaney

Buescher is the best Ford right now as his average finish at the tracks listed above is better than Blaney and Logano so I have to take him at this price over Blaney.

Blaney only has two Top 10 finishes in the last 8 races while Buescher has 5 Top 10’s in the last 9 races. Blaney has the better average finish here at Darlington, but not by much as they both have 2 Toip 10s in the last 4 races here. Buescher at this price is great.

Goodyear 400 Top 10 Finish Prediction

Alex Bowman +110

He’s become a Top 10 machine as he’s finished Top 10 in 3 straight races, and 6 out of the last 8. The Hendricks cars are running great right now, and I’m really surprised we’re still getting plus money on this.

He hasn’t finished well at all in the last 4 races here, but I’ll ride the hot hand of Bowman at this price.
