2024 NFL Schedule: Opening Weekend

Thursday, September 5th: Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs

The 2024 NFL season kicks off with an AFC Championship game rematch between Lamar Jackson and the Ravens and the 2023 Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City beat the Ravens in Baltimore en route to their 2nd straight Lombardi Trophy.

Friday, September 6th: Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles*
* = International Game

The 2nd game of the NFL season doubles as the first international game of the season. The Packers, who were bounced by the 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round, play the Eagles, who were bounced in the Wild Card Round in San Paolo, Brazil. Jordan Love looks to build on his impressive debut season against the Eagles, who played well to start last year but faltered down the stretch.

Sunday, September 8th: Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Lions

The Rams lost to the Lions in an instant classic on Wild Card weekend, and the first Sunday features a matchup between these two teams. Matt Stafford faces his old team for the second time, and the first time, he was seconds away from pulling off a win. Jared Goff was rewarded with a contract extension after his stellar 2023 season, and he faces his old team as well.

Monday, September 9th: New York Jets at San Francisco 49ers

The inaugural Monday Night Football game of the 2024 season features Aaron Rodgers and the Jets against the Super Bowl runner-ups. Rodgers tore his Achilles on Monday Night in Week One of last year, and his return to the gridiron is an amazing way to start the 2024 NFL schedule.

2024 NFL Schedule: Holidays

Thursday, November 28th (Thanksgiving Day)
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers

The Lions and Cowboys continue their tradition of playing on Thanksgiving, with both teams playing familiar foes. Caleb Williams, the Bears’ No. 1 pick and new quarterback, will head to the Motor City to take on the Lions, one of the best teams in the NFL. The Giants are not expected to be good this season, and they head to Arlington to take on the Cowboys in a game that could have NFC playoff implications.

The final game features an interconference matchup between the Dolphins and the Packers at Lambeau Field. Miami and the Packers played on Christmas Day in 2022, and the Dolphins lost to the Packers 26-20 at home. This time, Jordan Love will be under center for the Packers, who are expected to make the playoffs in the NFC.

Friday, November 29th (Black Friday)
Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs

The Black Friday game this year is an AFC West showdown between the Raiders and the Chiefs. These two teams played on Christmas last season, and the Raiders pulled off a major upset at Arrowhead. Las Vegas is not expected to be good this season, while the Chiefs are on their quest to win their third straight Lombardi Trophy.

Wednesday, December 25th (Christmas)
Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers
Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans

The NFL will stream their Christmas Day games exclusively on Netflix, and there are two great games to watch. The Chiefs head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers who have two new quarterbacks and are expected to be much improved this year. The second game features a rematch of the 2023 AFC Divisional round, with C.J. Stroud and the Texans hosting Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. Baltimore beat the Texans handily twice last season.

2024 NFL Schedule: Revenge Games

Sunday, October 23rd: Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers

The Super Bowl rematch has been set, and this time, it’s on the road. The 49ers lost to the Chiefs in overtime in a thrilling Super Bowl, and they get their chance at revenge at home. The Chiefs beat the 49ers twice in the Super Bowl in the last four seasons.

Sunday, September 13th: Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos

The Broncos waived Russell Wilson, and now he gets a chance to face his old team… or does he? Pittsburgh also added QB Justin Fields, and though the Steelers said Wilson is their starter, anything can happen in training camp. If Wilson does start as expected, he gets a chance to face the team that chose to pay a ton of money in dead cap instead of keeping him on the roster.

Monday, November 25th: Los Angeles Chargers at Baltimore Ravens

Jim Harbaugh won the National Championship at Michigan, and now he is back in the NFL. On Monday Night Football, he takes on his brother, John, in what could be a key AFC playoff showdown. If either of these teams happens not to be in the mix for a playoff spot, this matchup will at least be for bragging rights between the Harbaugh brothers.

Sunday, December 29th: Las Vegas Raiders at New Orleans Saints

Last offseason, the Saints traded for Derek Carr from the Raiders, and this season, they get to play one another. Dennis Allen, the Saints head coach, was also part of the Raiders organization, so this is a double revenge spot. Carr failed to lead the Saints to the playoffs in his first season in New Orleans, and considering this game is in Week 17, this could be a huge one to monitor.

Sunday, December 8th: Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings

One of the biggest dominoes this offseason was Kirk Cousins, and he signed with the Falcons. Cousins is coming off an Achilles tear, but he put up great numbers during his time in Minnesota. The Vikings selected JJ McCarty in the 2024 NFL draft after they opted not to re-sign Cousins to a long-term deal.

2024 NFL Schedule: International Games

Friday, September 6th: Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles (Sao Paolo, Brazil)

Sunday, October 6th: New York Jets at Minnesota Vikings (London, U.K.)

Aaron Rodgers and the Jets head to London to take on J.J. McCarthy (maybe?) and the Vikings. Assuming Rodgers stays healthy, the Jets should be favored in this one. The Vikings will have a QB battle in camp, and while it is possible McCarthy is under center for this one, odds are it is Sam Darnold against his old team overseas.

Sunday, October 13th: Jacksonville Jaguars at Chicago Bears (London, U.K.)

The Jaguars play back-to-back games overseas for the second straight season, and they start off by playing Caleb Wiliams and the Bears. The Jaguars are coming off a tough season, and the Bears have one of the brightest outlooks for a team that just had the No. 1 overall pick. At this point, we will have a read of how good (or bad) Caleb Williams is, and that will dictate the excitement level surrounding this one.

Sunday, October 20th: New England Patriots at Jacksonville Jaguars (London, U.K.)

The Patriots are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL, and at this point in the season, it’s uncertain if Drake Maye or Jacoby Brissett will be under center. The Jaguars will have a whole week in London of rest, and last year when this was the case, they won as sizeable underdogs.

Sunday, November 10th: New York Giants at Carolina Panthers (Munich, Germany)

The final international game features the Giants and the worst team in the NFL in 2023, the Carolina Panthers. New York is not expected to be good this season, and the Panthers are expected to be just as bad as they were last year. If Bryce Young shows some strides to start the season, this game could be more interesting than it is advertised to be initially.
