NFL Week 3 Passing Props Prediction: Skylar Thompson Miami Dolphins UNDER 192.5 Passing Yards (-120) DK

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left early in the 3rd quarter of Thursday Night Football with a concussion and despite playing from behind Skylar Thompson only threw for 80 yards while completing 8 of 14 passes.

Thompson has only made three career starts and, in those games, he’s thrown for 166, 152 and 220 yards.

The 220-yard effort came in a playoff game against the Buffalo Bills where he was playing from behind and it took him 45 passes to get there.

In the first two weeks of the 2023 campaign, the Seattle Seahawks pass defense ranks #2 in yards allowed after holding Bo Nix to 138 yards and Jacoby Brissett to 140 yards.

Neither quarterback is lighting the world on fire, but I don’t think Thompson is any better. The Dolphins will likely lean heavily on the running game with a De’Von Achane heavy game plan to take the pressure off Thompson.

Thompson and company will also be playing in a hostile environment after a cross-country flight. Quarterback passing numbers have been down in general and Thompson feels like a great fade in Week 3.

NFL Week 3 Passing Props Prediction: Bo Nix Denver Broncos OVER 186.5 Passing Yards (-115) DK

Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix is coming off a game where he completed 20 of 35 passes for 246 yards against a strong Pittsburgh Steelers defense despite his receivers dropping three passes.

Nix did fall well short of this line with 138 yards in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks, but he was playing on the road against a brutal Mike Macdonald pass defense.

Now he has the opportunity to face a banged-up Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that ranks 28th in the NFL in drop back success rate.

The Bucs did hold another rookie quarterback in Jayden Daniels to only 184 yards in Week 1 but allowed 324 passing yards against the Detroit Lions last week.

Tampa Bay is 2-0 after scoring 37 & 20 points and they find themselves favored by nearly a touchdown at home against Denver.

The game script will put the Broncos in passing situations for the majority of this contest which will give Nix plenty of opportunities to surpass this modest total.
