The Denver Nuggets have cleared their win total in eight consecutive seasons, dating back to the 2016-17 season but all good things must come to an end.

The Denver Nuggets will always be a contender with a core four that includes perennial MVP candidate Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr.

They did lose Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who was arguably their best perimeter defender and an elite three-point shooter. Last season, Denver pushed for the #1 seed which led to tired legs in the playoffs.

Jamal Murray didn’t look like himself for the last two months of the season outside of an epic game winner against the Lakers in the playoffs and Michael Porter was a non-factor in the semifinals.

The Nuggets aren’t going to run themselves into the ground fighting with the likes of Oklahoma City, Minnesota and Dallas for the top seed in the West.

Murray and Jokic also both played in the Olympics, so the Nuggets are going to take a step back in the regular season and get their house in order for a playoff run.
