Miami Heat at Toronto Raptors Analysis
What a crazy schedule for these two teams. They played the triple overtime on Saturday, had one day off, each played last night and now they play again tonight. The Raptors are -2.5 favorites tonight with a total of 210, and the Heat might be choosing to rest players while the Raptors are apparently playing everyone from last night’s game despite the high minutes. It’s an interesting game for sure, but we aren’t looking for interesting, we’re looking for profitability.
Heat Resting Up?
Butler, Lowry, Tucker, and Morris are questionable for tonight and last night we saw what happens when they don’t play as Boston man handled them. They lost by 30 and it could’ve been worse if Strus didn’t have a big day from three pointers.
I can’t read into against the spread or Totals trends with this team as this team tonight and the back to back throws it all off. The best thing to do with the Heat is wait until tonight when lineups are finalized.
Raptors Playing Big Minutes
The Raptors are pretty set on their rotation obviously as they had the triple overtime game and still played everyone huge minutes in a win against Atlanta last night, and as of now those guys are all going to play tonight.
Toronto is only playing nine guys a game and the bench players aren’t playing a lot of minutes. The Raptors have won their last two second games of back to back situations, and going back and looking at them they did not rest anyone so it appears we can expect a full roster.
The Raptors are 8-2 against the spread their last 10 and it’s a roll of the dice to bet on this game now. If you take Toronto now, and the Heat rest the guys they rested last night you’ve got a fantastic line. If the Heat don’t rest their guys you’ve got a coin flip game.
Miami Heat at Toronto Raptors Prediction
Wait til later today is my best advice. If the Heat announce they’re starting everyone it means they threw away last night’s game to be ready for this game and I would take the Heat to get their revenge.
If Butler sits I would take Toronto to win as they are 25-23 this year and in need of wins, and this would be a great game to steal a win against the #1 team in the East. Be patient with this game, look for updates and if you see this line come off the board or the line suddenly moves it means the books know something.
OFFICIAL PLAY: If Butler and Tucker play I’ll take the Heat ML. If they’re out, take Toronto ML. Be patient and we don’t have clear info, just pass on this game.

Miami Heat at Toronto Raptors Preview from GoldSheet
Injuries and absences caught up to Miami last night in Boston, with the Celtics blowing the Heat out 122-92 with a monster 68-47 tally in the 2nd half. Jimmy Butler was among the scratches for the Heat in Boston, although he likely will return for this one, which would make a difference, as four members of Erik Spoelstra’s squad didn’t make the trip to Boston for various reasons.
These two just met Saturday in Miami with the Raptors taking a 124-120 triple-OT victory despite Butler scoring 37 pts. grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing 10 assists. That Toronto success came despite the Heat bench outscoring the Raptor reserves 41-9.
Miami is 13-4 vs. the points coming off a straight up loss, but also just 2-6 against the number in 2nd night of back-to-back games. Toronto, which is 5-3 vs. the number when unrested, snapped the Trae Young-less Hawks’ 7-game winning streak in Atlanta last night, winning 106-100 with Gary Trent Jr. turning in his 4th straight 30+ point game.
Trent has scored 32 ppg and is a sizzling 50% from beyond the arc in that span. Raptors healthy and Pascal Siakam having a top 5 all around season at 21 ppg, 8.4 rpg and 5.2 apg.
