Neither team has played an overly-difficult schedule thus far, but there certainly is a red flag on the Red Raiders’ profile. Prior to Saturday’s win at Utah, Texas Tech had not played a single road game all season.
The Red Raiders played ten games in the Lone Star State, and one neutral site event in Brooklyn. The Marriott Center is going to look and feel a lot different than those tame environments.
Utah appears to be the worst team in the Big XII this season, so we’re not putting too much stock into that road win on Saturday.
The result that will make you raise an eyebrow is Texas Tech’s home loss to UCF last week. Why is that eyebrow-raising? UCF just lost to Kansas at home by 51 on Sunday. Yikes!

True freshman Christian Anderson has emerged as a primary ball-handler for Texas Tech, and this will be a tough test for him.
He looked great against teams like Lamar (20 points), but in 44 combined minutes against UCF and Texas A&M, the frosh scored a total of two points.
BYU is coming off a tough road loss at Houston over the weekend. It happens. Houston does that to a lot of teams. BYU is top-30 in offensive efficiency, rebounding rate and effective field goal shooting.
