NFL Wild Card First Touchdown Props Prediction: Derrick Henry Baltimore Ravens (+350)

Derrick Henry has to be on your radar to score first against Pittsburgh on Wild Card weekend after leading the NFL in first touchdowns with seven.

Henry also finished in a three-way tie for rushing touchdowns (16) with Jahmyr Gibbs and James Cook. The Ravens will have the biggest advantage possible in scoring the first touchdown on the game as they led the league in scoring first (14/17 games 82%) while the Steelers ranked dead last (4/17 games 23.5%).

The Ravens are also the biggest favorites of Wild Card weekend (-9.5) and they are playing at home which should put them in a nice spot to score first.

The Steelers have been stout against the run (6th fewest rushing yards allowed) but they did rank slightly below average with 12 running back rushing touchdowns allowed. Let’s make another play on the NFL leader in scoring first despite the low odds.

NFL Wild Card First Touchdown Props Prediction: Josh Allen Buffalo Bills (+500)

Josh Allen led all quarterbacks in first touchdowns this season (4) while tying for 4th amongst all players. Allen also finished the season tied for 9th in anytime touchdowns (12) and the only quarterback with more was Jalen Hurts with 14.

Allen always runs more when the lights shine the brightest and he recorded three touchdowns in two playoff games last season including a first touchdown in the Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Denver Broncos only allowed three quarterback rushing touchdowns during the regular season but two were first touchdowns (Geno Smith Week 1 & Anthony Richardson Week 15).

The Broncos also play strong pass coverage while blitzing at the 7th highest rate (29.5%) in the NFL. The Bills are the 2nd biggest favorites of Wild Card weekend (-8.5) and which will set them up nicely for a first score.

James Cook as the same odds as Allen, but the Broncos defense allowed the 5th fewest running back touchdowns and yards this season, so I see Allen finding paydirt first.
