Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool | January 14 | 3:00PM ET

Nottingham Forest +410 | Liverpool -150 | Draw +320

Intriguing top-three clash in the league on Tuesday night between league-leaders Liverpool as they take on the Premier League’s hottest team right now in Nottingham Forest.

The job Nuno Espirito Santo has done at the Tricky Trees has been well-documented this season after picking up yet another Manager of the Month award for December, his second of the season overall, and the only manager to win two awards all year as well.

That run for Forest continued with another 3-0 blowout of Wolves last week, as well as a 2-0 victory over Luton in the FA Cup also to record their seventh straight win overall, with the East Midlands club continuing to defy expectations in their pursuit of Champions League football for next season.

That said, Liverpool will be eager to put that impressive run of Forest’s to an end here on Tuesday. With a record of 14-4-1 on the season as a whole, the only blemish on the Reds dominant display this year has been Forest’s 1-0 win against them back in September, a victory that took place at Anfield on top.

No doubt Arne Slot will still be smarting from that defeat and will be keen to get some revenge here on Tuesday as Liverpool look to avoid losing a league double against Nottingham Forest for the first time since the 1962-63 season.

We don’t see that happening in this one, so look for Liverpool to get some revenge here on Tuesday with an outright road win against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Premier League Prediction: Liverpool ML (-150)

Arsenal vs Tottenham | January 15 | 3:00PM ET

Arsenal -255 | Tottenham +595 | Draw +435

One team feeling the heat in the league right now is Arsenal as last season’s title runners-up have won just three of their last six Premier League matches overall, and got dumped out of the FA Cup at the weekend against Manchester United also.

Arsenal now sit second in the table alongside Nottingham Forest on 40 points apiece, yet a clear gulf exists between them and Liverpool at the top of the table who not only sit a full six points clear of them, but also hold a game in hand over the Gunners as well.

Tottenham meanwhile have continued to falter in their league form of late also, winning just one of their last eight Premier League games overall, a worrying statistic given expectations for the club at the start of the season.

Manager Ange Postecoglou did enjoy some cup success to offset this slightly over the last week, with victories against both Liverpool and Tamworth in the EFL Cup (first leg) and FA Cup respectively, but much more will need to be done in the league itself if Tottenham are to avoid a dismal end to their season.

The good news ahead of this North London derby for Spurs however is that Arsenal will still be missing their talisman Bukayo Saka ahead of this match, with Saka expected out with a hamstring injury until at least March.

That constitutes to around a 0.35 GPG drop for Arsenal with Saka out of their lineup as the young international has been so pivotal to Mikel Arteta’s squad across recent seasons, once again owning by far the highest goals + assists ratio for the Gunners this season.

That means that just like Arsenal’s display against Manchester United at the weekend, Arteta may opt to go super-defensive in this one, and while it’s not often we’d opt to take an Under between these two rivals, given Saka’s absence ahead of this game combined with Tottenham’s struggles in front of goal recently (Spurs sit bottom-half in goals scored from open-play on the road this season), a current goal line set at 3.25 may just be a shade too high here on Wednesday.

Premier League Prediction: Under 3.25 (-110)

Manchester United vs Southampton | January 16 | 3:00PM ET

Manchester United -330 | Southampton +820 | Draw +485

Manchester United were offered a small reprieve over the weekend as they managed to overcome Arsenal in the FA Cup via an entertaining penalty shootout.

Arsenal did have the potential to kill off that game after getting a penalty with only 18 minutes of regulation time remaining, yet Martin Odegaard couldn’t get the ball into the intended right-bottom corner to hand the Gunner’s the likely win in that one.

That victory for Manchester United however has been one of their only true bright spots recently, currently mired in a four-game winless run in the league and sitting 13th in the table overall, yet United could consider themselves somewhat unfortunate after a gutsy display last week against table-toppers Liverpool in a game they arguably deserved to win.

Southampton meanwhile continue to sit rooted to the bottom of the table with a total of just six points accumulated overall with less than half the season remaining, a situation that would have even the most ardent Saints supporter preparing for life in the Championship for next season.

That said, five of those six points for Southampton have been generated since November, with Southampton generally getting better in their passage of play recently, only getting beaten by more than one goal in just one of their last four starts overall. Southampton’s 10 goals scored from open play and counter-attacking situations this season is also significantly higher than Everton’s 7 for example, despite the Toffees sitting with almost three times the number of points than Southampton have.

Overall, this line is set just too high here on Thursday, with United needing to win this game by three clear goals in order to cash a ticket, something they’ve done just once across their last 13 matches.

Lean to the away team plus the headstart on Thursday.

Premier League Prediction: Southampton +1.75 (-120)
