Brighton vs Bournemouth | February 25 | 2:30PM ET
Brighton +115 | Bournemouth +220 | Draw +275
Brighton closed the gap to just three points on Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth side over the weekend as they romped home 4-0 winners on the road at Southampton.
Another win here on Tuesday for the Seagulls would see them tied all square with Bournemouth on 43 points apiece, with the Cherries still on top (no pun), owning to their better overall goal differential, bar an absolutely spectacular win for Brighton here on Tuesday.
While the spectacular part may be missing in this one, to see another Brighton win on Tuesday night certainly wouldn’t come as a surprise, especially as the Seagulls are currently riding a three-game win streak right now, including winning all of their last three head-to-heads against Bournemouth at the Amex also.
For Bournemouth, it’s been a slightly different story coming into this one with just two wins from their last four games in all, both of which came against sides ranked 14th in the table or below, something they certainly won’t face here in midweek against Brighton.
However, Bournemouth have been excellent away from home this season, ranking joint-3rd in the league overall in points accumulated per game on the road, a stat that’s mainly been down to their heavy goal threat, with only league leaders Liverpool netting more total goals on the road this season than the Cherries have.
Bournemouth’s road games this season have a BTTS (Both Teams to Score) frequency rate of 77%, the highest percentage in the league overall, while eight of Brighton’s twelve home games have also seen both teams find the back of the net (67%).
Look for the scoring high-jinks to continue here on Tuesday in what should be an entertaining encounter down on the south coast between Bournemouth and Brighton.
Premier League Prediction: Both Teams to Score – Yes & Over 2.5 (-115)
Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal | February 26 | 2:30PM ET
Nottingham Forest +300 | Arsenal -105 | Draw +250
Arsenal allowed a golden chance to keep up the pressure at the top of the table slip out of their hands at the weekend as they not only lost outright to London adversaries West Ham on Saturday, but also saw title rivals Liverpool get the 2-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday in what looks to be all but game, set and match in the title race even at this relatively early stage of the season.
Arsenal will have a chance to redeem themselves this midweek with a game in hand, but it certainly won’t be easy for them traveling up to the East Midlands to take on a Nottingham Forest side who have been absolutely exceptional this season, ranking top-three in the league overall and allowing the joint-fewest goals out of any team at home this season also.
The Tricky Trees have started to wilt across recent weeks however, losing three of their last four Premier League games overall, so Arsenal could well be catching them at a good time here, especially considering the Gunners won the reverse fixture between these two back in November by a lopsided 3-0 scoreline.
However, with no Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, or Gabriel Martinelli in the lineup, Arsenal look completely devoid of attacking talent right now, a situation that’s less than ideal when you’re about to take on one of the best defensive home teams in the league.
Only two teams have allowed fewer chances inside their own 18-yard box at home this season than Nottingham Forest have, with the Tricky Trees owning an incredible 92% clean sheet percentage inside the first half at home this season as well, by far the highest percentage in the entire league overall (Liverpool’s first half clean sheet percentage is at 75% for comparison).
Getting Nottingham Forest, who has allowed just one first half goal all season at home, at a headstart here on Wednesday, especially against a misfiring Arsenal team, presents too much value in our opinion, and that’s the way we’ll be playing this one in midweek.
Premier League Prediction: 1H Nottingham Forest +0.25 (-125)
West Ham vs Leicester | February 27 | 3:00PM ET
West Ham +415 | Leicester -160 | Draw +320
Two teams in some of the poorest form in the league overall matchup on Thursday night to close out the midweek EPL slate as 16th-place West Ham hosts 20th-place Southampton in London.
The Hammers have registered just 0.80 PPG across their last five starts, with Southampton registering an even lower 0.60 PPG across that same timeframe, both of which are two of the five lowest points tallies generated in the Premier League over that period.
West Ham were, however, able to snap that poor run over the weekend thanks to a 1-0 win against Arsenal, a result that gives them some much-needed breathing room from the rest of the relegation pack immediately beneath them.
Leicester meanwhile, slumped to yet another heavy defeat at the hands of Brentford on Friday, their fourth straight defeat in all, and their seventh in eight matches away from home.
A major concern for Leicester this season, especially in terms of their road form, has been their defense which has allowed a mammoth 2.67 GAPG away from home this season, by far the highest figure in the league overall, and much higher than the next-worst team Wolves at 2.14 GAPG.
While West Ham’s games have tended to be lower-scoring recently, on the season as a whole, the Hammers have actually seen 69% of all of their home games go over the standard total of 2.5 this season.
Leicester’s road games meanwhile have hit the over at an absolutely staggering 92% this season, by far the highest percentage in the league overall, and a total that’s cashed in each of their last eight road games across all competitions. Look for more of the same here on Thursday.
Premier League Prediction: Over 2.5 (-140)
