Expert MLB Props for Tuesday: Teoscar Hernandez, Dodgers Under 1.5 (-145)

Teoscar Hernandez has cleared this line in 4 of his first 6 games to open the season and he has hit two home runs but he’s still only batting .227 thus far.

Now Hernandez faces an absolutely brutal matchup against Chris Sale who has held him to 3-16 (.188) with only one home run and seven strikeouts throughout his career.

Sale is the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner, and he showed no signs of last year’s late season arm fatigue in his first start, keeping his velocity and putting up elite numbers. Freddie Freeman is also day-to-day due to an ankle injury after a “shower mishap”.

Hernandez is projected to bat cleanup behind Freeman and if he misses this contest, it could impact the continuity of the lineup.

Sale should be able to pitch a bit deeper into his 2nd start of the season, let’s count on him to continue his dominance of Hernadez.

Expert MLB Props for Tuesday: Paul Goldschmidt, Yankees Over 1.5 (-105)

Paul Goldschmidt has covered this line in 2 of his first 3 games of the season including back-to-back games where he logged six Hits + Runs + RBI, going a combined 5-8 with a home run, 5 runs and two RBI.

Now he gets a matchup against right-handed starter Corbin Burnes who he’s thrived against in the past, going 10-31 (.323) with a home run and two RBI.

Burnes also can’t be counted on to pitch very deep into this contest this being his first start of the season.

The Yankees lineup is firing on all cylinders with their “torpedo bats” and Goldschmidt can get overlooked in a lineup loaded with sluggers. Let’s back Goldy to continue his hot streak against a pitcher that he’s very familiar with.
