Expert NBA Player Props for Friday: Davion Mitchell, Heat Over 16.5 Points + Assists (-114)

Davion Mitchell didn’t start in the first play-in game against Chicago, but he played 33 minutes off the bench and his defensive prowess ensures his court time.

He may even start as Miami needs him to guard Trae Young and Young who plays zero defense himself. Mitchell played the Hawks twice this season and he crushed this line with 26 and 22 PAs while playing 37 and 36 minutes.

Atlanta ranked 18th in defensive rating this season while allowing the 4th most points and 7th most assists overall.

Mitchell has cleared this number in 8 of his last 12 games when playing 25+ minutes (16 exactly twice) and when the Heat were playing at full strength (Adebayo, Herro & Wiggins).

Mitchell just put up 24 PA in a very similar matchup against the Bulls and the Heat will surely utilize him in a do or die game. 

Expert NBA Player Props for Friday: Zach Edey, Grizzlies Under 10.5 Points (+100)

This is a brutal matchup for Zach Edey as the Dallas Mavericks have the size and strength to defend him with players like Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford and Derek Lively II.

Despite scoring 14 points, Edey looked sloppy against Golden State and now the rookie is facing the pressure of an elimination game.

His playing time has been on the rise since the Grizz parted ways with former head coach Taylor Jenkins, but he’s still only cleared this line in 3 of 9 games since the firing (avg 9.8/game).

Edey could definitely be a candidate for foul trouble as he deals with AD, and he struggles with lateral quickness which could also make him a defensive liability.

We cashed on Edey’s rebound over last game and he may stack some boards again, but I don’t see him being effective as a scorer in this situation.
