Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors Analysis

The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics meet for Game 4 of NBA Finals from TD Garden on Friday night. The Celtics will be looking to take a commanding 3-1 series lead after winning Game 3 116-100.

The Warriors will be hoping to even out the series and snatch back homecourt advantage. Opening tip off is scheduled for 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PST.

Celts Look To Put Stranglehold On Series

The Boston Celtics got the job done in Golden State and came home with the split. In Game 3, they cruised to a relatively easy victory behind some solid shooting and great rebounding.

The Warriors will continue to get eaten alive if they get outrebounded 47-31 again. The Celtics spread out the scoring with Jaylen Brown scoring 27, Jayson Tatum scoring 26 and Marcus Smart scoring 24.

The Celts shot 48.3% from the field and 37.1% from three-point land as a team in Game 3. Boston finally realized that Jayson Tatum needs to start attacking the rim whenever Steph Curry is defending him.

The Celtics may have the recipe for success but need to take advantage and keep the pressure on Golden State.

Warriors Hope To Snatch Back Homecourt Advantage

The Golden State Warriors are breathing a huge sigh of relief with the news that Steph Curry avoided significant damage on his foot. He was landed on awkwardly by Al Horford and suffered a left foot injury.

However, he didn’t need an MRI so Chef Curry should be in the kitchen again for Game 4. The Warriors fell behind 33-22 early and went into halftime down by 10 points.

However the 3rd quarter once again proved to be the Celtics achilles heal as they were outscored 33-25. Boston once again put the clamps down defensively in the 4th quarter and took home the victory.

Steph Curry led the way for Golden State with . 31 points while Klay Thompson dropped 25 and Andrew Wiggins chipped in with 18 points.

Draymond Green scored only two points as he fouled out of the game in the loss. This is critical game for the Warriors as they could either steal back homecourt advantage or be on the brink of elimination.

Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors Prediction

The Boston Celtics are 4 point home favorites with a total of 214. The Warriors had a ton of momentum after Game 2 but lost most of it in Game 3.

The Celtics have outplayed the Warriors outside of a few quarters in all three games. Boston has proven to be able to play solid defense and limit the shooting of Curry and Thompson.

I think the Celtics really figured out how to exploit the poor defense of Steph Curry and they are getting consistent scoring contributions off the bench. I do think the Celtics win but I envision a rare close post-season game. Let’s take the Boston team total over 108.5.

Prediction: Boston Celtics Team Total Over 108.5
