Fabio Wardley vs Frazer Clarke Betting Analysis

Two undefeated British heavyweights clash in London this weekend with the winner getting a huge leap forward onto the world stage should he prove victorious on Sunday.

English Heavyweight Champion Fabio Wardley is the more seasoned professional of the two so far, with 17 wins from his 17 fights, including two notable victories on the road against Eric Molina and David Adeleye also.

Frazer Clarke meanwhile, whilst not having the same professional experience as Wardley at just eight fights in, nevertheless has a star-studded amateur background to fall back on, winning multiple gold medals in European and Commonwealth competition, along with a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games also.

Odds are slightly spread for this fight, with Fabio Wardley coming into this one anywhere between a -225 to -245 favorite on Sunday, with Frazer Clarke coming back at a +175 to +194 underdog at most books.

Well-Schooled Technique The Name Of The Game For Clarke

After a white-collar start to his life in boxing, Fabio Wardley has heard all the jibes about his lack of technique in fights so far, with purists in the sport often bemoaning the fact that a fighter like Wardley can even make it to European or world level given how raw his ability is in the ring.

However, what many of these purists may be missing is that, similar to Deontay Wilder in a lot of regards, what Wardley lacks in overall finesse and technical ability, he more than makes up for in savage aggression and punching power, with all of his last 16 opponents failing to see the final bell against him, including 13 of those 16 failing to even see the start of the 5th round also.

Fabio Wardley vs Frazer Clarke Prediction

During the recent face-to-face meeting between the pair on The Gloves Are Off show, Frazer Clarke stated the pressure he’s under ahead of this fight from the amateur world given how he’s a multi-gold medal-winning champion about to take on effectively a white-collar boxer here on Easter Sunday.

Whether Frazer Clarke opts to take that pressure to heart or not remains to be seen, but he appeared dismissive of Fabio Wardley’s career progression up to this point, and seemed adamant that his overall technical superiority and world-class amateur experience will prove far too much for an overly reckless “pub” fighter such as Wardley.

Fabio Wardley vs Frazer Clarke Expert Prediction

There’s no question Frazer Clarke is the far superior boxer of the two heading into this one, and his comments and demeanor in the recent face-off prove that he’s aware of that fact also.

However, Nathan Gorman, another technical boxer with a standout amateur background, felt very similar, and while he was able to evade and counter Fabio Wardley early on in their fight, eventually wilted under the constant pressure and aggression that Wardley was dishing out, leading to a stoppage in the 3rd round.

Frazer Clarke is no doubt another step above Nathan Gorman in terms of technical ability here, but Sunday’s fight might go very similarly for the Staffordshire man, with Clarke likely under-estimating Wardley’s power and pressure in the ring.

Frazer Clarke should start well in this one, but at some point, Fabio Wardley will crash the party like he always does with that reckless abandon of his and all of Frazer Clarke’s technical advantages may go out the window under that scenario.

If that’s the case, we’re happy to side with the Ipswich man under those conditions, likely by stoppage (no odds listed at the time of writing for the method of victory), as his power and ferocious two-handed attack prove too much for the amateur Olympian.

Fabio Wardley vs Frazer Clarke Prediction: Fabio Wardley ML (-225)
