Baylor drew the wrong team on the wrong night in this Big 12 matchup. Arizona has lost a pair of tough contests at the wire against Kansas State and Houston.

The Wildcats were up by five with under ten minutes remaining against Houston on Saturday before they went six minutes without scoring a field goal.

The short turn-around is probably a good thing for Tommy Lloyd’s squad as they look to erase that loss and get back in the win column.

The same probably can’t be said in Waco where the Bears could use a couple days off. Baylor is coming off a 74-71 overtime win over West Virginia on Saturday, but Scott Drew’s team is running out of bodies. Junior center Josh Ojianwuna will miss the rest of the season after getting injured last week.

Langston Love and VJ Edgecombe each played over 40 minutes on Saturday as Coach Drew is down to a seven-man rotation at his disposal.

Coming off an overtime contest two days ago, Baylor is now tasked with defending a team that wants to run as much as possible.

These teams already met earlier this season in a very similar situation. Baylor was coming off an overtime win against Arizona State, and the Bears got blasted in Tucson the following game.

The 81-70 final score is flattering for Baylor because Arizona was up by 27 at the beginning of the second half.

Seven Wildcats finished with at least eight points in that contest as Arizona shot 53.7-percent from the floor.

Traveling on short rest in the Big 12 is not easy, but you’re getting the better team in arguably the better situation as an underdog on Monday night. Both Haslametrics and Bart Torvik have Arizona favored in this matchup, and we agree.
