UConn head coach Dan Hurley would probably like to be a little healthier heading into one of the biggest games on the Big East slate.

Freshman Liam McNeeley is expected to make his return from injury on Friday, but he has not taken the court since New Years Day. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that there are several other question marks on the Huskies’ roster. Fellow freshman Ahmad Nowell has already been ruled out after missing the last two games.

Senior guard Hassan Diarra is questionable after being held to a total of eight points in the Huskies’ last two games. Aidan Mahaney is also questionable after playing just seven minutes against Marquette on Saturday.

Rick Pitino’s Red Storm still have not lost since the calendar turned to 2025. St. John’s has a one-game lead atop the league standings after nine-straight wins.

We’ll use similar rationale here as we did for USC: We like a road team that doesn’t rely on three-pointers.

St. John’s is bottom-20 in the country in three-point attempts. Only 22.3-percent of the Red Storm’s points come from beyond the arc. That formula has propelled St. John’s to road wins at Providence, Xavier, Seton Hall and Georgetown.

The Red Storm only needed three made three-pointers to beat Marquette on Tuesday.

In Big East play, St. John’s defense is No. 1 in efficiency, No. 1 in effective field goal shooting allowed, No. 2 in two-point shooting percentage allowed, No. 2 in turnover rate and No. 2 in block rate.

That’s a great recipe for road wins in tough environments.
