2022 Big XII Football Odds and Conference Betting Preview
Big XII Football Predictions and Betting Odds
The Big XII was strong last year. Can the conference repeat that success before realignment? Last year was the first time since 2007 that the Big XII had three teams finish in the top-10 in the final AP Poll with Oklahoma State, Baylor and Oklahoma. Even with two teams in the College Football Playoff last season, the SEC failed to get three in the top-10.
Unfortunately for the Big XII, the narrative entering this season will be surrounding the things that they lost. Lincoln Riley, Spencer Rattler, Caleb Williams and virtually the whole Sooners’ coaching staff left Oklahoma. Oklahoma State defensive guru Jim Knowles left Stillwater for Ohio State. The Cowboys lost seven players to the transfer portal and only gained one of note in return.
New Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables will turn the offense over to Jeff Lebby and former UCF quarterback Dillon Gabriel. Texas’ second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian will likely have a quarterback battle on his hands with rising junior Hudson Card competing with freshman transfer Quinn Ewers from Ohio State.

Kansas State has built its program on winning coinflip games, and the Wildcats will have to do that once again in 2022. According to our preseason power ratings, six of Kansas State’s nine conference games are projected to have a point spread under a touchdown.
Baylor has been fantastic against the spread over the last three seasons, going 22-12-1 since 2019. A fun betting note from our friend Marc Lawrence: Baylor is 12-2 against the spread when looking to avenge a loss against a .500+ opponent. Baylor’s losses last season came against TCU and Oklahoma State. Keep an eye on those two matchups as both teams visit Waco this season. It seems as though the Bears have a pretty good memory.
