Florida State vs Louisiana Football Predictions, Picks and Odds November 19
Florida State vs Louisiana Betting Preview
Sadly with three conference losses, Florida State doesn’t have a shot to play in the ACC Championship game. Louisiana sits middle of the pack in the Sun Belt Conference but still have a shot to make a bowl game sitting 5-5. WagerTalk college football handicapper Kevin Dolan shares this thoughts on Saturday’s non-conference showdown between Florida State and Louisiana.

Florida State vs Louisiana Analysis
In a couple weeks from now, we could be looking back at Florida State’s season and wondering what could have been.
The Seminoles were battling some injuries in October and lost three-straight to Wake Forest, NC State (by 2) and Clemson (by 6). Since then, Florida State has roared back into national prominence by blowing out each of its last three ACC opponents by an average scoring margin of 34 points per game.
The Ragin’ Cajuns, meanwhile, are coming off a blowout win themselves last week against Georgia Southern, winning outright 36-17 down in Lafayette. However, that marked just their third win in conference play since early September. These two teams have never met before.
Cajuns’ Limited Attack This Year
The Cajuns’ offense has no doubt taken a noticeable swing downwards from last season’s numbers where Louisiana averaged 414.2 yards per game, including 202.2 yards per game on the ground.
With former head coach Billy Napier now in Florida, those numbers have dropped off considerably with the Ragin’ Cajuns averaging just 367.6 yards per game, with 142.2 of them on the ground.
Seminoles Showing Why They’re So Dangerous
Florida State’s 35-point victory over Syracuse last week and their blowout victory in the previous week against Miami marked them as the only Power-5 team in the country right now with two 30+ point victories on the road this season.
Florida State leads the nation this year in 90+ yard touchdown drives with seven. The Seminoles rank third in explosive play rate differential this season as well.
If the Seminoles are focused, this can be a great prep week for next week’s clash with Florida. Most of Louisiana’s players were recruited by Napier, who Florida State will see next week.
The Ragin Cajuns promoted from within the program, so the boys from Lafayette will run a lot of the same concepts that Florida State will see against the Gators next week.
Florida State vs Louisiana Prediction
It’s a big number to lay here on Saturday on the home favorite, but it’s for good reason as Florida State’s metrics are absolutely on fire right now, ranking No. 1 in the ACC in overall pass defense (No. 2 nationally, also) and No. 1 in total rushing offense this season.
That’s a lethal combination, and when compared against Louisiana’s lackluster offense this year, ranking 81st in the country overall on total yards per play, it’s hard to see the Ragin Cajuns putting too many points on the scoreboard.
Take the Florida State Seminoles minus the big number at home here on Saturday to win and cover in Tallahassee against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns.
Prediction: Florida State Seminoles -24
