Minnesota vs North Carolina Pick: The Betting Analysis

The Gophers and Tar Heels have never met on the gridiron before. Minnesota is 6-6 against current ACC teams since 1985, with the last game coming last year as the Gophers beat Syracuse 28-20 in the Pinstripe Bowl.

This is North Carolina’s first game against a Big Ten opponent since 2016.

Mack Brown and the Tar Heels continue to take shots at the NCAA for its decision to keep Tez Walker on the sidelines. North Carolina held a board meeting on Monday to discuss any additional avenues that the university may have against the NCAA’s decision.

Why has Coach Brown fought so hard to get Walker on the field? a) The NCAA’s decision was pretty ridiculous. Look at JT Daniels, who is currently on his fourth college team. b) The Tar Heels entered this season under the assumption that their offense would be built around star quarterback Drake Maye and Walker, and the results without him in the lineup have been shaky.

North Carolina earned an overtime win over App State last week, and the Tar Heels did almost all of their damage on the ground.

Omarion Hampton ran for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Without Walker in the lineup, Maye is surrounded by a group of unproven receivers that are still finding their way.

If the Tar Heels have to rely on the rushing attack against Minnesota, that’s probably not going to go well.

The Golden Gophers’ defense has only allowed 16 points this season after soundly beating Eastern Michigan last weekend.

Golden Gophers running backs Darius Taylor and Sean Tyler combined for 50 carries, 286 yards and a touchdown.
