Ohio State has won each of the last five meetings, including last year’s 21-10 win in Columbus (Notre Dame covered as a 17-point ‘dog).

Prior to that, the previous two meetings both took place in the Fiesta Bowl (2006 and 2016).

Ohio State’s offense needed a get-right game, and they got one against Western Kentucky. The Buckeyes scored five touchdowns in the second quarter, which was the first time OSU has scored five touchdown in a quarter in the last decade.

The Hilltoppers’ pass-happy offense can be tricky to prepare for, but the Buckeyes’ defense was up to the task. Ohio State limited reigning NCAA passing leader Austin Reed to just 207 yards before he was pulled in the fourth quarter.

Ohio State now has to shift its focus from the passing yards leader to the touchdown leader. Notre Dame’s Sam Hartman currently has the most touchdown passes of any active FBS quarterback (123).

Buckeyes’ QB Kyle McCord has performed well since getting the starting nod, throwing for 318 yards and three touchdowns last week.

The Buckeyes are 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games after failing to cover the spread at Indiana earlier this season.

Notre Dame is 5-1-1 ATS in its last seven games against Big Ten opposition, but we’re a little more interested in the total.
