Unfortunately, it lost a little luster after the Red Raiders lost at Wyoming in overtime as a two-touchdown road favorite.

One year after Texas Tech beat both Oklahoma and Texas for the first time in program history, expectations were high in Lubbock with a talented returning QB in Tyler Shough and a loaded defense.

The Red Raiders jumped out to a 17-0 lead at Wyoming, but the wheels fell off the wagon after that. There were no loose wheels in Eugene this weekend.

Oregon had its Nike track shoes on en route to a 50-7 halftime lead against FCS-level Portland State last week, and the Ducks could have flirted with 100 points if they really wanted to.

They settled for a 81-7 win with a 729-200 advantage in total yards. Bo Nix threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns on 23-of-27 passing.

Mar’Keise Irving ran for 119 yards on just four carries. Jordan James added three touchdowns. Needless to say, the Ducks look ready for this one.

Oregon vs Texas Tech Prediction: The PICK

So how much of that Red Raiders’ loss was poor performance, and how much of that was looking ahead to this one?

You can probably expect a sizable sharp vs square betting market on this one with the betting public racing to grab the Ducks at an affordable price, while some larger bankrolls grab the home ‘dog in Lubbock. We’re a little bit more interested in the total.

The Texas Tech offense was flat at Wyoming, but you can’t ask for much more from the defense. The Red Raiders held the Cowboys to 4.1 yards per play and forced two turnovers. That unit was largely fine. This total looks a few ticks too high, in our opinion.

Prediction: Under 69
