NCAAB Close Game Report for Tuesday, February 20

• The total for the West Virginia vs UCF game closed at 144 at most books, and the 77-67 final score landed right on the number.
• The total for the Buffalo vs Eastern Michigan closed at 145 at most books, and the final score was 78-69.
• Central Michigan closed as a 2.5-point home favorite over Bowling Green and won 62-60 in overtime.
• Utah State closed as a 3.5-point home favorite over San Diego State and won 68-63.

NCAAB Upset Report for Tuesday, February 20

There were some big ones, including No. 1 UConn losing at Creighton.

• Michigan State closed as a 9.5-point home favorite against Iowa and lost 78-71.
• Texas A&M closed as a 12-point home favorite over Arkansas and lost 78-71.
• NC State closed as a 7-point home favorite over Syracuse and lost 87-83.
• Morehead State closed as a 15.5-point favorite over Southern Indiana and lost 80-73.

The Ice Report for Tuesday, February 20

• The Washington Capitals beat the New Jersey Devils as a +150 home ‘dog. Five goals were scored in the third period to push the game over the total.
• Five goals were scored in the final period of the Winnipeg vs Minnesota game to push the total over six goals.
• Ottawa took Florida to overtime as a +230 ‘dog but the Panthers prevailed in the extra frame.

#666 Mercer -5.5 vs The Citadel

Situational ‘cappers are likely going to look to fade Mercer on Wednesday after the Bears pulled off a surprising upset of Samford on Saturday, but for every negative that this situation presents, we’ve also been able to find a positive. In addition to that win over the SoCon leaders, Mercer has also beaten Greensboro (10-4 in conference) and Furman (9-5) earlier this season. With wins over three of the top four teams in the league, the jubilation associated with a victory like that is a little calmer. Mercer knows it can play with the top teams in the league, the Bears just have to do it on a more consistent basis. You know what else will help with getting a focused effort out of Mercer on Wednesday night? Revenge. The Citadel opened SoCon play 1-12 with that lone win coming against Mercer on January 24. The Citadel enjoyed a 24-6 edge in free throw attempts in that contest and won by two points after Mercer blew a 16-point lead with less than 16 minutes remaining. If you’re going to put Mercer on letdown alert after the Bears’ big win on Saturday, you should probably do the same for the Citadel. The Bulldogs got their second win of the conference season on Saturday over rival VMI. The Citadel is 0-7 straight-up in conference road games, losing by an average of 11 points per game.
