JapaneseGrand Prix Preview

Suzuka Circuit, home of the Japanese Grand Prix, is a 5.807 km (3.608 miles) track known for  its rare figure-eight layout—one of the only in Formula 1—where the track crosses over itself.

It’s a high-speed, technical circuit that features iconic corners like the ‘S’ Curves, Spoon, Degner,  and the thrilling 130R, making it a favorite among drivers for its rhythm and challenge.

The layout demands precision and balance, with limited runoff areas adding to the pressure. This  weekend’s forecast looks mostly dry for Friday and Saturday with temperatures around 61°F (16°C), but Sunday brings uncertainty with a strong chance of morning rain and highs reaching 64°F (18°C).

A wet race could shake up strategies and create opportunities for bold moves. Suzuka always delivers drama, and the changing weather could add even more excitement this  year.

Japanese Grand Prix Double Podium

McLaren -140

They’re the cream of the crop, and unless the weather trips them up again, they should be running near the front.

The other big thing with this play is that teams are already looking to next year for their improvements as there will be all new cars introduced so teams aren’t putting resources into this years cars so I don’t see teams catching up with McLaren.

I look for McLaren to keep dominating and finishing both cars inside the Top 3.

Japanese Grand Prix Number of Classified Drivers

Under 18.5 (-150)

If there’s rain in the forecast, I’m taking the under on cars to finish. We saw a car go out on the  formation lap, and a car go out on a caution lap in the last race with rain, and with all the rookies  in the field combined with so many cars be pretty equal, I think there will be carnage.

Last year this cashed easily as 2 cars crashed on the first lap, I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens again  this year.
