2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship Course: TPC Southwind

This course is no pushover as there are plenty of ways that this course can trip guys up. First off, it’s just going to be brutally hot and humid there this week.

Temperatures above 90 degrees all week with a bit a rain on Wednesday and Friday means there will be a lot of swampass going around, but in all seriousness it’s going to take it’s toll on guys.

The course only has two Par 5’s, and they’re both very scoreable so players will have to take advantage of them.

I think the winner is going to have to play these in -6 or better this week to have any chance of winning. There are seven Par 4’s at 450+ yards, and the rough is thick, and the fairways are narrow so wayward tee shots will be punished this week.

Add to that, there are 11 holes with water hazards so there are plenty of ways this course can bite back at players.

Accuracy off the tee will be rewarded, and with the greens being some of the smallest on tour, approach shots must be accurate. Tee to Green should be the main stat to look at when predicting success this week.

2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship: Players That Can Trip You Up

*Last week was the best week so far this year with Players That Can Trip You Up as Si Woo Kim, Shane Lowry and Jordan Spieth all missed the cut. Humble Brag.

Scottie Scheffler

It’s been one of the most amazing years for any golfer, but I think this week Scheffler has a letdown. He won the Olympics, and was emotional about it, and there really isn’t much on the line for him this week as he’s up almost 2,000 points on 2nd place Xander Schauffele, and he’s up 3400 points on 3rd place Rory McIlroy.

In order for Schauffele to pass him this week, Schauffele would have to win and Scheffler would have to get arrested again, and not let out, and I don’t think that will happen.

Scheffler has finished 31st and MC the last two years at this course, and last year this was his worst finish of the year. This is a classic letdown spot for him after an emotional Olympics win with not a lot on the line for him this week.

Ludvig Aberg

I’m out on him for the rest of the playoffs as he only has one top 10 finish in his last five tournaments, and he’s priced as a Top 6 guy this week. He missed the cut at The Open, and then finished 18th at the Olympics.

His tee to green has been good, but his numbers putting and around the green have been awful the last three months (+0.11 strokes gained putting, +0.01 around the green), and with these small greens that he’s never played on, I won’t be betting on him this week.

2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship: DraftKings Darlings

Mackenzie Hughes $6200

Hughes came through as a Draftkings Darling for us last wee finishing 28th and getting us solid weekend points so I’ll go back to him at this insanely low price. His upside is a bit limited, but there’s nobody around this price I would rather have.

Cameron Davis $6800

Davis missed the cut last week, but he had been pretty good before that and he likes this course. He’s finished 6th and 13th the last two years here so at $6800 I’ll take the upside with him after an off week.

Davis Thompson $7400

Thompson was a guy we profited off of last week, and I think he’s in line for a good finish here. He finished 46th at The Scottish Open and 66th at The Open Championship, but he’s finished 12th, 1st, 2nd and 9th at his last four tourneys in the US. We cashed on him last week, I think we can do it again this week.

Rest Of Lineup: Russell Henley $9100, Corey Conners $9100, Xander Schauffele $11,400
