2024 Tour Championship Course: East Lake Golf Club

The course is going to look and play differently this year as massive changes were made after last years tournament. It will play at 7,490 yards as a Par 71, and the grass in the fairways should cause the ball to roll more than in years past so expect some longer drives, and yet some drives that roll into the rough that normally wouldn’t have.

The greens are a bit bigger, and they should be faster which will be the biggest change this year. Guys like Schauffele, who have thrived here, might run into some trouble if they can’t adjust to the new green speeds and contours.

There are some more bunkers in the fairways that will be problematic for wayward tee shots, and water is now in play on 8 holes. With the new changes, I think there could be some surprises this week.

2024 Tour Championship: Players That Can Trip You Up

Xander Schauffele

He’s been playing incredible golf this year, and he has an incredible track record here as he’s finished Top 7 in all 7 tournaments here, but the change in greens is cause for concern. In the last 3 months, he’s putted lights out at 0.96 strokes gained, but instead of walking into a course he knows well, he’s walking into a course he used to know well.

If he falters with the putter this week on the brand new greens, he’ll fail to deliver a Top 3 finish, and while he may play us usual great golf, there’s a chance he disappoints this week.

2024 Tour Championship: DraftKings Darlings

Taylor Pendrith $6500

He’s finished 5th, 5th, 22nd and 13th in his last 4 tournaments, which is better than guys priced thousands more than him this week. In the last 6 weeks, he’s 10th best in total strokes gained, better than Aberg, McIlroy, and Im. Fantastic value at $6500.

Sepp Straka $6700

He finished 13th last week, and he’s finished 6th here the last 2 years. That’s about as good as upside can get at this price. His putting has been bad, but tee to green has been solid, maybe we get a little lucky and he putts better.

Tommy Fleetwood $7600

He has 2 Top 5 finishes in his last 3 tournaments so hopefully he can show that form against this week. He finished 9th here last year, and at this price he’s worth a flyer.
