2025 Mexico Open Course Preview

Vidanta is a wide open course that favor the bombers as the fairways are big and flat. There are quite a few water hazards that are in play, but the weather looks to be perfect this week so look for scores to be pretty low.

There are two Par 5’s that are 600 yards, and there are several 500 yard Par 4’s so distance is important here.

It’s a bit of a different course with five Par 3’s and nine Par 4’s, but in the end, with this being such an easy course to hit fairways and greens, distance and a hot putter from anyone could get the win. The winning score should be mid to high teens under par.

This field is really weak as Akshay Bhatia is the betting favorite, with Rasmus Hojgaard and Patrick Rodgers, Samuel Stevens and Kurt Kityama rounding out the Top 5 favorites so this is set up for a tournament with a lot of lesser-known golfers to have success.

2025 Mexico Open Favorite Holes

Favorite Hole: 7th Hole, 310 Yard Par 4

This hole can be reached by golfers taking a chance off the tee, but there is water on one side, and bunkers on the other.

The bunkers aren’t that difficult to get out of so missing the drive to that side should still set up a birdie opportunity. However, miss it in the water, and players are bringing in a big score on a birdie hole.

18th Hole Rating, Par 5 548 Yards

Pretty weak finishing hole here. It’s easily reachable in two if the drive is decent, the green has a few small bunker on it, but it’s not challenging at all and it doesn’t set up for much drama.

If you like easy holes to close out a round and tournament, this is for you, but for me, this hole is lacking.

2025 Mexico Open: Players That Can Trip You Up

Rasmus Hojgaard

He hasn’t played here before, and last weeks course should have set up decent for him and he was one of the worst players in the field missing the cut in a short field.

Maybe the weather did him in, but he doesn’t have a top 10 finish this year, and he’s priced as a top 2 players this week. I’ll pass.

Kurt Kityama

He’s 38th in this field in total strokes gained this year, and he’s priced as a top 5 golfer this week? No thanks.

His best finish is 37th this season, and even though he has a runner up finish at this tournament, it was back in 2022 so I don’t take it too much into account.

Mexico Open Draftkings Darlings

*Last week we finished 22nd out of 75 people in a tournament, and our 2 best finishers were McCarthy and Taylor…the lowest priced guys on the team showing how important the Darlings are to the lineup.

Sam Ryder $7400

He hasn’t played here before, but he’s playing well coming into this week with 4 made cuts, nothing worse than 43rd, and he’s 8th in the field in total strokes gained.

Erik Van Rooyen $7500

He’s been bad this season, but he loves playing here finishing 8th last year and 33rd the year before. Maybe he gets confident at a course he loves against a weak field.

Greyson Sigg $8000

He’ made 3 out of 4 cuts this season, but his course history is what intrigues me as he’s finished 19th, 18th and 33rd the last 3 years here. He’s worth this price.
