LIV Jeddah Course: Royal Greens Golf & Country Club
The course is short as it’s around 7100 yards and there are six Par 4’s that are less than 400 yards. Not all of them are drivable, but a few of them are for the longest players, and even if players don’t drive the green they’re left with a short approach.
There are some water hazards in play, but for the most part, the water isn’t a big factor. There are a ton of bunkers so I would expect sand saves to be important, but make no mistake… this course is easy.
Last year, Koepka and Gooch tied at -14, eight other players got to -10 or lower, and that was in LIV’s three-round format.
The longer players will have the advantage, but as always with these easy tournaments whoever has the hot putter will be near the top.
LIV Jeddah: The Field
The biggest surprise for this tournament will be the return of cult favorite Anthony Kim who we haven’t seen in professional golf for more than a decade.
Who knows what form he’ll be in, but I certainly won’t be betting on him as it feels more like a gimmick than it does a contender coming in to pressure Koepka, DJ and Rahm for a win.
Brooks Koepka will go for three wins in a row at this tournament while DJ and Niemann will try and get their second wins of the season.
Jon Rahm hasn’t won yet, but that’s only a matter of time as he’s finished 8th and 3rd in the two tournaments this year.
LIV Jeddah Top 10 Predictions
Brooks Koepka Finishing Position 10th or Better (-110)
Koepka finished just outside the Top 10 in Las Vegas, but he was tied for 5th at Mayakoba, and he has won this event two years in a row so his course history is best in the field.
Sergio Garcia Top 10 (+150)
Garcia couldn’t get much going in Las Vegas as he finished 17th, and nine shots behind the leader, but he tied Niemann for the lead at the end of the Mayakoba before losing on a playoff hole, and he finished 3rd at this event last year, and in 2022.
His short game has always been top-notch which should pay dividends at this course. This is a great price for him to have a solid finish for the third year in a row here.
