The Saudi International Course and Field

From Nick Borrman: This will play like a traditional tournament with the field of 120 set to play all four rounds at the award-winning Royal Greens Golf & Country Club. It is worth noting, that although this year the tournament has made more headlines due to the fact that it is no longer part of the European Tour, this is the fourth year of this event with many of the same players partaking in year’s past, including Dustin Johnson winning two of the first three editions and finishing runner-up the other year.

The difference this year is that the field has a much sharper fall-off as the majority of the players are Asian Tour players which do not stack up with those on the European Tour (and obviously PGA Tour) and a big reason we are seeing the odds board very low on the 20 Top-50 players competing this week.

Nick’s Picks

Kevin Na +3500 | +300 Top-10

I’ll go back to one of my favorite ‘bet-ons’ so far this year as he is consistently underpriced compared to the big name players who he has been playing as well as, if not better than. Na ranks inside the top-10 in both Strokes Gained Tee-to-Green and Approach, and he played in this event last year finishing T21, including shooting a 63 in Round 2.

Na comes in rested after not playing the last two weeks, going T13 and T20 in the Hawaii swing, part of a longer run of six top-20 finishes in his last eight starts including three top-10s.

Thomas Pieters -105 vs Tony Finau

Pieters isn’t getting the credit he deserves here in this matchup. I mean the guy has only won two of his last four tournaments including at the Abu Dhabi Championship two weeks ago in a strong field. His worst finish over his last five starts has been a T16 and he ranks inside the top-10 in Strokes Gained Tee-to-Green and Approach in this field.

I faded Finau last week which turned out great as he missed the cut at Torrey Pines, and in six starts this year, he has just one top-20. He has also been struggling with the putter, losing -0.09 Strokes Gained Putting per round over the last six months.
