What is Verifying’s racing profile and history?

Verifying made his debut on August 27 at Saratoga, where he won a six-furlong maiden race by 2 1/4 lengths over Track Mate and Didinger after breaking well and taking command early.

He then stepped up to Grade 1 company in his second start on October 1 at Belmont Park, where he finished second in the one-mile Champagne Stakes behind Blazing Sevens, who won by four lengths. He earned 20 points for that effort, which put him in seventh place on the Kentucky Derby leaderboard.

He then tried his luck in his third start on November 4 at Keeneland, where he finished sixth in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile behind Forte, Cave Rock, National Treasure, Reincarnate and Derma Sotogake.

He earned 10 points for that effort, which gave him a total of 30 points and kept him in seventh place on the Kentucky Derby leaderboard.

He then started his three-year-old campaign with a fourth-place finish in his fourth start on February 25 at Oaklawn Park, where he finished fourth in the $1 million Rebel Stakes behind Confidence Game, Red Route One and Reincarnate. He earned 10 points for that effort, which gave him a total of 40 points and moved him up to sixth place on the Kentucky Derby leaderboard.

He then secured his spot in the Kentucky Derby field with a second-place finish in his fifth start on April 8 at Keeneland, where he finished second in the $800,000 Blue Grass Stakes behind Tapit Trice, who won by a neck. He earned 40 points for that effort, which gave him a total of 80 points and moved him up to third place on the Kentucky Derby leaderboard.

Verifying arrived at Churchill Downs on April 18 after traveling from Louisiana. He has been working well on the track under the supervision of Cox’s assistant Dustin Dugas. He breezed four furlongs in :48.20 on April 24 and five furlongs in :59.60 on May 1. His trainer Cox said he is very happy with his condition and confident in his ability.

What are Verifying’s strengths and weaknesses?

Verifying has several strengths that make him a possible contender for the Kentucky Derby. He has proven himself on dirt, which is not always easy for horses who are bred for turf or synthetic surfaces.

He has shown consistency with each race, as he has never finished worse than sixth.

He has displayed speed and stamina, as he can set or press the pace or come from off the pace depending on the situation. He has also shown improvement and class, as he has competed against some of the best horses in his generation.

What is the origin of Verifying’s name?

Verifying’s name is a word that means to prove or confirm the truth or accuracy of something. The origin of the word is uncertain, but it may be related to the Latin word “verus”, which means true or real.

The word may also be a pun on the word “flying”, which is a term used in horse racing to describe a horse’s speed or movement. Verifying’s name is fitting for a horse who likes to prove himself and run fast.

What are Verifying’s chances of winning the Kentucky Derby?

Verifying has a fair chance of winning the Kentucky Derby, as he faces some obstacles and challenges that could prevent him from reaching the winner’s circle. He will have to overcome his lack of class and pedigree, as he has not won a Grade 1 race and his sire Justify has not produced any Grade 1 winners yet.

He will have to face Forte and other top contenders who have better credentials and performances than him. He will have to deal with more traffic and potential interference than he is used to.

However, Verifying also has a chance to surprise everyone by winning the Kentucky Derby, as he has some factors that could work in his favor. He has proven himself on dirt and at 1 3/16 miles, which are essential for the Kentucky Derby.

He has shown consistency with each race, as well as speed and stamina. He has improvement and class, which could help him overcome his mistakes and compete with the best. He has a good post position (No. 2), a good jockey (Tyler Gaffalione), and a good trainer (Brad Cox). Verifying is not just a horse, he is a contender.

He is a contender for his owner Poulin, Jonathan, Westerberg, Magnier, Mrs. John, Smith, Derrick and Tabor, Michael B., who bought him for a hefty price and saw him become a stakes placer.

He is a contender for his trainer Brad Cox, who prepared him for the biggest race of his life. He is a contender for his jockey Tyler Gaffalione, who rode him to place in Kentucky and hopes to repeat it in Kentucky.
