No franchise has won more Rookie of the Year awards than the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers, with 18 total. In the American League, outfielders have dominated the award with 24 ROYs, while catchers have won only twice in the past 72 years. The award has been spread out much more evenly in the National League, and the NL East has dominated recently, winning 5 of the last 11 ROY awards.

2024 AL Rookie of the Year Predictions
Oddsmakers expect a Baltimore Orioles infielder to win the American League Rookie of the Year for the second straight season. Shortstop Jackson Holliday sits at +250 a year after Gunnar Henderson won the award. The 20-year-old Holliday is considered to be the top prospect in the minors, as he’s torched pitching at every level. The risk with Holliday is playing time, as the Orioles have a slew of talented infielders, including the aforementioned Henderson.
Two Texas Rangers round out the top three as outfielders Evan Carter (+300) and Wyatt Langford (+400) are next in line to win the award. Evan Carter was already considered to be one of the MLB’s top prospects, and he has the advantage of playing a 40-game stretch at the major league level that included a World Series title run. Carter has an excellent feel for the strike zone, and he could play the majority of his games at center field, which would be another feather in his cap.
Wyatt Langford was the #4 draft pick last summer, and he posted a .360/.480/.677 with ten home runs in 44 games across four levels. The issue with him is whether he will spend most of the season in the majors or not.
