2024 College World Series Best Bets
Texas A&M +500
Texas A+M, led by Ryan Prager and his 8-1 2.51 ERA, has the 7th-best team ERA in the country at 3.97. The Aggies are no slouches at the plate either, as they hit .302 as a team. Looking for power, Texas A+M is 5th in the country with 124 home runs. A well-rounded Aggies team that will need to get by a pesky Longhorns team in their regional, and if they do, it should set up excellent for a Super Regional match-up. Lastly, Texas AM is 28-0 against Q2 teams or lower.
Arkansas +1000
Anytime you have the best team ERA, you will always put yourself in a good position with a chance to win. That is exactly the case with Arkansas as they come to the tournament with a 3.66 team ERA. Led by arguably one of the best pitchers in college baseball, Hagan Smith, who has a 9-1 1.48 ERA, with 154 strikeouts in the year. Smith averages a stunning 17.5 strikeouts per 9 innings. While the Razorback offense doesn’t dazzle you, they are an outstanding 33-3 at home, where they would play the first two rounds. Color the Hogs dangerous!
Wake Forest +1200
Wake Forest is not one of the top teams in the tournament, but this team is a dangerous one. Wake Forest has Chase Burns, who has been dominant on the mound for the Demon Deacons and is a game-changer. If the rest of the team can rally around Burns, Wake Forest is a sleeper in the 2024 College World Series.
Duke +2000
Duke has the longest odds of any team I like to win the 2024 College World Series, and this team is dangerous. Duke is hitting at a .312 clip this season, and if they can just get average to better-than-average pitching, they will be a dangerous opponent for anyone to face. It’s tough to outslug teams, so Duke really needs their pitching to match their hitting.
