Baltimore Orioles vs Texas Rangers Analysis

The Baltimore Orioles will be in search of a three-game home sweep over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday at Camden Yards. The Rangers are 37-42 which puts them at 3rd place in the American League West, while the Orioles sit at 38-44 good for last place in the American League East.

This matchup features two young right-handed pitchers as Glenn Otto gets the nod for Texas, while Spenser Watkins toes the rubber for Baltimore.

Baltimore Better Than Expected

The Baltimore Orioles are 13-9 since June 11th, only the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Houston Astros are the only American League teams with better records. After back-to-back walkoff victories the Orioles are on the hunt for a sweep over the Texas Rangers.

The O’s overcame poor pitching performances with a great day at the plate. Leadoff man Cedric Mullins went 3 for 5 with two doubles and two RBI. Baltimore ranks 23rd in runs scored and 27th in batting average. Spenser Watkins gets the nod for Baltimore on Wednesday night. He is 1-1 on the season with a 4.51 ERA and 23 strikeouts.

Everything Is Average In Texas

The Texas Rangers will be hoping to salvage the third and final game of this series after losing 10-9 in the 10th inning. Spencer Howard allowed four runs in four innings and Corey Seager went 3 for 5 with a homerun and three RBI.

The Rangers lineup is average across the board, they rank 19th in batting average, 17th in runs scored and 17th in on-base percentage. Corey Seager leads the team in homeruns and RBI. Glenn Otto gets the nod for Texas on Wednesday. The right-hander is 4-4 on the season with a 5.63 ERA and 35 strikeouts.

Baltimore Orioles vs Texas Rangers Prediction

The Rangers really struggle away from home as they have lost 106 of their last 157 road games. The O’s have been great at home recently with victories in 6 of their last 8 at Camden Yards. Otto has been roughed up in his last two starts, allowing 10 runs in only 10 innings pitched.

Meanwhile, Watkins has only allowed two runs over his last 11 innings. This goes to show you how deep the American League East is as Baltimore is last place but superior to a third-place Rangers team. I’m going to play the team in better form for this price.

Prediction: Baltimore Orioles -105 on the MoneyLine
